As a kid, what did you love/hate the most?

Best bet before getting any pet is to read a little about it. For fish, you need water type: PH, salinity, water quality tolerance - things like that

I wanted to get one of those water testing kits but they seemed expensive ($10) back then since I was a kid with no income or allowance. I should've stolen some pH paper from chem lab .

Any experience with live aquarium plants? I wanted some of those too but the plants at PetsMart always had little snails on them...

yeah, the kits are expensive, but when your fish die on you ... it's not cooool.

I had salt water (marine/reef) tanks too, and that requires a much larger budget and even more testing and monitoring.


I firmly believe that 95% of aquarium fish die from ammonia poisoning (their own waste). It is extremely toxic to them even in small doses, and they naturally produce it in their waste.

You have to change part of the water every once in a while to keep them healthy. There is actually quite a bit I can write about doing the actually changing of water.


I have this video tape where I have one of my aquariums that I built into my wall, and I had like 35 fish and like 25 live plants in there. It's tight. I'll be uploading it one day.


I seem to recall a tip for soaking aquarium plants in salty water to kill snails, though I'd confirm that somewhere else before trying it. As you know salt kills snails, but most freshwater fish like a little bit of it.

You can also quarantine plants in a small tank for a while to make sure they don't have snail AIDS. ; )

I'd just get on it and ride for hours and hours and hours and hours. I didn't have to be going anywhere either, i'd just do laps around the block, or just ride around the neighborhood. Just pick a direction and go.

Didn't care where I was going or what I was doing, as long as I was on my bike, I was having the time of my life.

I hated my elementary school and all the kids in it. In my 7 years there, i had two friends in fifth and sixth grade and the rest of the years i spent my lunch crying by the wall or sitting alone at the lunch tables. That school is responsible for my 16 years of loneliness. Last year I almost got my first girlfriend near the end on the school year. At the end of the year she said she'd be in German 2 with me again and would like to see me.

The next year, she doesn't show up at school for months, then, later, i see - and talk - to her after school as she was visiting her friends. She told me that she had moved to another high school because she didn't like the way the school was run or something. She says she'll visit the campus ever few weeks or so. So i say goodbye and walk home.

Three months later of waiting at the front of my school doing homework and hopeing to see her again, she walks bye, I talk to her for about thirty seconds, then she says she hast to see someone and walks away. I didn't even get her phone number.

I've been alone ever since and the computer's my only escape from my life.

Yep. Not only that, but if you befriend girls, they can hook you up with their friend and they'll tell their friend that you are really really sweet and pretty cute. (or something like that)

My guess is, you might be just as quick to worry that the girl is losing interest because of something one of you said or did too. Which might make you come off as clingy or over-sensitive or high-maintenance.
