graphically it looks great, i'm more interested again after the dodgy e3 presentation put me off, seems they've tweaked the character/npc physical interaction but still seems odd particularly when Altair starts walking sideways when up close to a NPC.

also combat aswell against multiple enemies i dont like, they all just stand there gawking at him.

8.5/10 <- my prediction

the context sensitive combat thingy has me worried ..what the hell is this with the context sensitive thing? I mean it's just so not immersive to use the same button for "sword poke" and "backflip-uppercut-slice-followed-by-downward-slash-twist-stab-and-dosey-doh-motion" ..the game just becomes "mash button A" ...I blame consoles for this annoying trend ...Fable 2 is supposed to have similiar combat ..oh goody, better get some extra bandaids to cover up my calloused thumb

Looks good to me. Doesnt take much to impress me. I just wanna ride the horse thingy.

It looks good but I'm going to wait for the reviews before I decide to buy this.

I predict awesomeness. 9.2 or higher out of 10. Combat is something I will likely avoid as much as possible anyway so I am not too worried about the context sensitive idea. Its the sneaking and killing and exploration that makes me tingle in all the right places.

But don't you worry it's all style over substance? I was sold on the premise and how cool the early media looked. Assassins are cool, no doubt about it. Strutting around with his cool white hoody on, looking mean. We were told about huge cities to explore, situations that can be tackled in many ways, and in my mind's eye I saw just that. Then we get gameplay footage and it looks like Prince Of Persia meets Hitman with more open levels and dodgy fighting!

Exactly! I want to reachthe highest point and swan dive streight into the groung!!! Can you imagine!!!

Aside from dodgy fighting, that's pretty much exactly what I wanted this game to be.

Then you'll probably be happy with it :)

I was hoping for something far more open than Hitman.

Same here. If there's nearly as many inventive approaches to tackling a mission as Hitman games offer and it has the acrobatic feel of Prince of Persia (it looks like Assassin's Creed tops it) then I'll be completely satisfied.

I couldn't care less about the Matrix-esque stuff that's going on or the dodgy combat.

I am a sucker for this era, especially the Crusades, so I will like this game just for being able to roam freely through Jerusalem and Acre.

ya I like the idea of killing infidels and the faithful with equal relish ..I can live with the combat if the trade off is that I can explore/stalk at will

If I can have my way, the only combat I'll ever take part in is brutally stabbing lone targets in the back of the head, only to immediately slink back into the shadows.

ya but if that entire scenario equates to mashing A button repeatedly I'll be disappointed

btw remind me not to piss you off ;)

I think it will be a good deal deeper than people here seem to think. I imagine all of the info gathering has got to be pretty involved and the side quests should be cool, not to mention the fun of starting sh!t with the crowds. Awesome. Exploring, killing rampages, hiding in plain site, huge areas with everything climable--how is everyone not as excited as me?? A GTA set in the Crusades with a much better engine than a GTA will ever have?? Sign me up please.

cuz all I've seen is the one game mechanic ..jumping and stabbing someone ..there needs to be more than that

If that's what it turns out to be then sign me up too :)

There's just a nagging doubt telling me that the cities are going to be tiny and the options rather limited.
