Run hl2 (with lowered settings)?
It will run it very smooth. Loading levels and other things while playing the game will be the only setback for ya.swashady said:Hi im new here and i have a question, how well would my computer run, would it be able to run half-life2 on high settings and high resolution? Heres my specs...

You should be good. The 9600Pro is a great card for 1024x768 res. If you wanted a better card, look for the 9800Pro (Online for <200$) or the 6600GT coming soon for 199$ in retail.HeNdRiX said:yo, someone just tell me really quick if my radeon 9600pro will run hl2 with basically everything on, or close to. In other words, should i buy a new card?
It isn't lowend and it will play the game very well. It will not however play the game in DX9 nor will it perform good if you force DX9.gamer_guy said:I have a GeForce FX 5600, 256 mb video memory, 512 mb of RAM, will that be able to run with high settings? Also, will this card last a year, or is it already low end?
Radeon 9000 cards have had a few issues in the past with different games. Just try some older drivers, like the 4.7's, if you can find them.mic03 said:i'm having trouble with my video drivers (also a ati 9000mobility card) so I wouldn't risk it yet
