I've got some kind of virus. The 'over-the-counter' (OTC) sinus medication I'm taking says "Avoid Alcohol", so that means what, exactly?

Stomach bleeding, or just make me drowsy?

I've done it before, I must have misread. I thought it said that it would make me drowsy, but looking at the box, they appear to be two separate warnings, and not related.

This is a pathetic thread, and I should be ashamed.

Why not just avoid completely for the duration?

It will destroy your liver. Drink while you're on it, and you'll live a sober life.

Or you'll just vomit profusely.

the smart thing to do is to consume the entire bottle of alcohol immediately after taking the sinus medication ..then when/if you wake up your sinus will be long cleared

If you cant put the booze down just to take some medicine, maybe you should be checking into AA.

I'm guessing one of two things: They interact, making you incredibly drunk incredibly quickly, or they contraindicate, destroying your liver. I wouldn't take the risk.

Hmm, I just figured, if it's going to make me drowsy, well I don't care about that. In fact that would be nice as I could use the rest. But if it damages livers, then I'll skip it.

I knew I could count on you guys for sound medical advice. Thank you.

You'll most likely just be drunker than normal. Stop being a pussy and take a shot, or better yet, get stoned. You should have some fun if you're going to be sick. Don't listen to stigmata, he hates fun.

Am I the only one who's amazed I'M not the one to make a thread like this?

you will probably either shit your pants or puke out of your nose randomly. I'd listen to the don't consume alcohol but my real best guess is that it makes you really sleepy and they don't want a lawsuit

I went hunting for information on this recently when I had to take antihistamines for an allergic rash that made all my limbs swell up - just the type of thing that makes a man need a drink. Turns out that alcohol just makes you double-drunk/dopey if you take it with that medication & I had no problem with that.

Meds and Alcohol causes fluids to fire out every exit.

It is generally inadvisable to ignore instructions on the labels of pharmaceuticals, except for instructions such as "FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY".

If it was really dangerous then it would have a warning in HUGE writing on the front. I say stick it to the man and drink as much as you possibly can before passing out!!

One beer won't kill you, but there's a reason for the ****ing label. Don't die.

Same here, except when it tells me not to operate heavy machinery.

I switch to the laptop in that case.
