"Avoid Alcohol"? So, just one then?

I've got some kind of virus. The 'over-the-counter' (OTC) sinus medication I'm taking says "Avoid Alcohol", so that means what, exactly?

Stomach bleeding, or just make me drowsy?

I've done it before, I must have misread. I thought it said that it would make me drowsy, but looking at the box, they appear to be two separate warnings, and not related.


This is a pathetic thread, and I should be ashamed.

the smart thing to do is to consume the entire bottle of alcohol immediately after taking the sinus medication ..then when/if you wake up your sinus will be long cleared

I'm guessing one of two things: They interact, making you incredibly drunk incredibly quickly, or they contraindicate, destroying your liver. I wouldn't take the risk.

I went hunting for information on this recently when I had to take antihistamines for an allergic rash that made all my limbs swell up - just the type of thing that makes a man need a drink. Turns out that alcohol just makes you double-drunk/dopey if you take it with that medication & I had no problem with that.
