AWP aim

I've just instaled HL2 and CSS and my AWP aim is missing. I've never had this problem before and I don't know how to fix it. I love the awp so if anybody could help me out it'd be great. I did try to use the awp without the aim and surprisingly I kille most of the enemies on the rounds, the only problem was when I could nly see a head or a leg, it took me at least another try to hit it.

Thanks man, when I pressed it the game closed and I was like "shit, I've just been fooled and owned" then I started it again to check it out, and there it was the aim.

@ Quack_66 - I hate to start flame wars, but go **** yourself Quack_66. I had problem and I politely asked for help. What you said did solve it, but it dosen't matter because it wasn't your intention. If you want to post idiotic stuff go to a spam forum.

freakin AWP noob...just take out the AWP and the auto sniper then i will be happy

@ Kamikazie - Don't jump to conclusions buddy. I don't use hacks, and I hate anyone who does. I had just installed the game, that's why I got confused on why the aim was missing. And actually, I'm pretty good with the AWP, it's one of my favorite weapons.

@ Dekstar - Hmmm...well, I really don't know if I wrote anything wrong. Maybe a little grammar misspelling...but as far as to understanding what I was trying to say, to me it looks fine. I'm not american you see, I'm brazilian. I lived 2 years in the USA and then came back to Brazil. I'm sorry if you can't understand my english =/.

Well I'm not american either :p.

So you just mean that you can't hit anything with the AWP? There is a trick to it. I think you get a very good accuracy while standing up but not moving. so make make sure your fingers don't touch the A or D (strafe left and right) while you're firing.

If I have misunderstood then :O

Im saying that it doesnt take skill to kill someone with an AWP, all it is is one shot one kill and of course you would be pretty good with it for the reason that i just stated.

im an AK fan myself, but the AWP does take skill, so dont be so fast to call their users noobs. If you think the AWP is overpowered, then you arent using your grenades correctly. Throw a smoke between you and your AWP camper friend, follow it with a flash (take cover) and then a HE. by the time the smoke cloud has fully expanded, you can leave you cover and rush his position. And maybe even knife him if he has no close range skill.

The AWP requires fast reactions and good aim to use properly. You cant fire while moving and the bolt delay makes it difficult to use at close range. If you are dying repeatedly to an AWP camper, then it is not because the AWP is unfair, but because you are playing badly.

not really why is the awp the only weapon that doesn't punish with recoil and random shots in css - the weapon is like 50 pounds try lining up a body shot standing up with that at as little as 20m and you'll know all about it
i shoot air rifles at 10m and even though i'm quite good it takes as much as 30 seconds to a minute to make sure you hit the target dead centre
with an awp's weight and size i imagine it would be 10times harder
besides when in real life a 7.62mm will take your head off and in css you need so many shots to get a kill and then the awp kills instantly with no penalty well then it is overpowered
bf2 got the balance right not in terms of semi realistic weapon damage but in terms of the relative damage that the weapons inflict
 
AWP is for quitters! Buy G-3/SG-1 - best sniper rifle in CS:S.

i wish cs:s was more like farcry and your scope would kind of move alittle because when im standing with a scout and im perfectly still i shoot at someone who is still and i miss WTF

Yeah but they (VALVe) wouldn't do that because of the lack of varying accuracy states. I mean you only have standing and crouching. No prone, so there's not much point in putting scope wobble in there. As far as I know DoD: Source has scope wobble because it has a prone function so that's what I'm basing it on.

Maybe someone will do a more realistic version of CSS (editing the HL2DM source to look and feel like CSS - same maps and models - but just with added functionality)
 
It's a gun, if you dont want to play against ppl who use them, leave the damn server and stop complaining
 
The AWP does take skill. I've tried using it in servers, where it's just become an AWP fest, and I just don't have what it takes.

But I still think that the AWP ruins the game. It's so sad when a perfectly good round is ruined because everybody and their ****ing unborn baby is shooting an AWP. You can't ****ing move without getting shot.

And you have to admit, I saw this guy switching between his DEagle and his AWP super fast, so he could use his DEagle sight on his AWP. That's just ****ing unfair.
 
awp is currently overpowered because u can simply press q twice and shoot it without the bolt delay. making it almost a full auto gun that kills with one shot. there are scripts that make this happen as well. there are also scripts that make u swap to pistol after u fire the awp. techncially, this is where the skill comes in with the awp. reaction times to hitting q and either using deagle or awp at the right moments. oh, and the awp scripts come with 1xzoom so its dead-on every time. believe me, ive tried it. theres a few videos of some guy and people testing this bug. in 10 seconds, this person fired his awp 10times with this script all at the same spot at a far object and then runs to it and shows you. mind u that because the script/pc/connection was so fast in the video that u dont even see his scope pop up. naturally when u shoot an awp no-scope, its never 100% accurate.

personally my fav weapon is the scout. i know the ins and outs. i can shoot u while strafing. compound is the map where i really shine with scout.

back to this topic;

the thread starter is a newbie. hands down. the awp is the only weapon that didnt change from 1.6. how can u not have aim? unless he was talking about an aimbot hack.. its still funny to read. especially the f10 part. but the part i didnt understand and the part about "not seeing his leg or arm" or something like that.
 
awp also has advanced over those that have low fps and dont use wallhacks. people that can awp someone in that .3 of a second they are visable after coming around a corner, for the most part, use a wallhack. to test this, get admin access and get cheats on, use console command to generate wireframes so u have a wallhack and then awp away. not as effective as using a real wallhack, but u will understand what i mean about being ready to fire as someone comes around the corner. the people that do this are obvious. u accuse anyone of hacking, and 100% will always deny it. think about it. u accuse someone of hacking, of course they are going to deny it. still if u arent friends with an admin, or dont have admin access.. theres nothing u can do about that hacker, so your best to keep quiet or find a new server and shake off the poor feeling that entered u once u found a hacker.

awp fests are definately the thing that ruins the map. unless its an awp map, (leet_ski_awp or something alike) then its pointless to participate because everyone is camping corners.

if awps and autosnipes are the party poopin weapons, i wouldnt mind if there was a limit of only 1 on each team. that definately would make things fair. no more 4 awpers on one side vs the team that has no money and only deagles. GG
 
one more thing to add.

flashbangs and smoke grenades dont always stop awp whores. long a awpers in dust2 can still pop rushers shooting aimlessly in smoke. someone with no smoke hack can easily get away with this because u can simply get lucky... a lot. and all u have to do is act like u got lucky.

i gotta figure out why steam says i have to install cs:s when it already is. i havent played in 6 days and for some reason, it says i have to install it over steam and says i gotat download a 750mb file or something. but i dont have enough room left to do so. i dont know what im going to do. probably gonna go mf more shit in d2x.

I don't cheat, yet I've been accused about 20 times over the year or so I've been playing. Of course I deny it, but they don't believe me. So this approach is totally the wrong approach to take. You don't have the experience to say for sure when someone cheats or not, so just shut the hell up and join another server. If I get banned from a server because of some 12 year old with an attitude problem then I will advise everyone I meet to never join that server. Ever.

Lol, I just got awped through smoke on the underpass on dust. But I do see your guys point, the awp is overused too much. It's more irritating especially when some noob uses it...
 
/disclaimer ive had four beers a shot of tequila 6-7 shots of whiskey and 3 shots of bacardi

I think you better reconsider that the awp is actually a very difficult weapon to use, the moving around makes it hard to be accurate in close quarters. the game is perfectly balanced so dont complain about the awp its fine. If your a good player then you can escape the awps with some smokes or whatever. btw sry im posting this but getting proper wasted is just so damn fun. I can still thikn but i cant control myself whahaha
