Back from the Pub

On his way home alone from the pub last night, one of my best friends got started on by pikies. One of them ran up to him and pushed him to the floor... he scrambled for his knife and tried to get up, they surrounded him, he slashed out and got one of them, but they beat him unconscious. He awoke the next day at 8:00am in a hospital bed.
He was lucky to not have his knife used against him.

Im fine here in portsmouth, once walking home at night (a long walk too), I saw 3 police officers in the dodgiest part of town and a van and 2 patrol cars.
Back home, you cant go anywhere for fear of being attacked, not mugged, just attacked, for no reason by Chavs.....

What would you do?
Should he have had/used his knife?
Is it something you worry constantly about when you are home alone at night?
 
Pulling out a knife on a group of people is not the best idea you can have...You're right saying he was lucky to have not been stabbed. A lot of people would have been spiteful enough to do so. Not sure what I would do because I wasn't in his situation, but perhaps I would just run away. It depends on how big they were I suppose. Most of the time I just stay out of trouble anyway, because I know the streets enough and...I dunno, maybe its something about the way I look and walk. People just don't try anything. Its not like I look particually "hard" though.

I don't worry about it. I just know that nothing is gonna happen...:p
 
Pulling a knife or any weapon on a gang of people is dangerous and stupid because it only provokes them to use weapons also. He was very lucky.

I have a friend here who would use his knife if he was started on.... its not a wise idea tbh. I mean... they beat him.... there was nothing stoping them taking his knife off him and using it against them.

I would have tried to run away if there were many/they were big/ other disadvantage.


Otherwise I mighta had a crack.... lol




I hope your friends ok btw. I know what it feels like to wake up after something like that. It aint all that pretty.

I would have legged it, heh. :) Good thing Manchester isn't as dangerous at night as some people tend to portray it, all I get is a few drunken comments from townies ("cut your bloody hair! Get a shave you hairy git!").
 
My friend has long hair, he isnt short, he's tall but he's lanky and an easy target. Im short and wouldnt stand a chance, so im more careful anyway, I've never been started on.
He is an idiot to pull out the knife but it makes him feel safer. And a fool to walk home alone.
I'd never let any of my friends walk home alone, if theres 2 of us the chavs are less likely to do anything.

But this country is in one hell of a state that after a great night out from the pub with your friends, you cannot walk home late at night in peace... what really takes the piss, they are closing the police station in the town centre... gravesend will become completley lawless once taht happens, not that there's any police presense as it is.

1) pikies are hard bastards
2) dont carry knives, carry a kosher (or however u spell it)
3) sorry to hear that hes in hospital
 
He's not in hospital anymore, he just had bruising, swelling and concussion and as he passed out someone must have turned up and called an Ambulance.
Pikies aren't hard, otherwise they wouldnt gang up on lone people with groups of 5 and more.
I think Kosh's or Asps are just as illegal here as knives when it comes to actually hitting people with him, the sad thing is, if the police arrived at some point, they'd have arrested and prosecuted him for defending himself and never bothered trying to find the pikies and bring them to justice, it just doesnt happen. They get away with it again and again.

He doesn't mean gypsies. The term 'pikey' is being used these days in the same way that 'chav' (or annoying street shit) is.

No offense, but these look like really pathetic offtakes of real black American gangs, not the crap found in GB. White kids looking that over here would get the shit beat out of them, and if not that, then humilitated on a daily basis.

He was very lucky..

I learned what a pikey was from Snatch and when i was in Cyprus i always asked the british bouncers if they were pikeys in the bar with a horrible fake british accent..

Portsmouth is down south, my best mate doesnt live in portsmouth, he lives in my home town. What we need in Britain is some black gang to go around shooting pikies... yeah... that'll sort them out :cheese:

No! They're Scallies :p, and yeah, it is dangerous, you go down some alley - even in the middle of the day - and you get your heart pulled out and you get a totally free and very painful liver transplant :). I seriously wouldn't want to be in the middle of Manchester on a dark night; hell, in Heald Green - the quitest and most unknown town in the world - some guy got killed!

Hmm, to me, for the most part, Manchester doesn't seem as dangerous as some people like to think it is. You just have to use common sense, and stay away from rough areas (although if you live in a rough area, then move out very quickly). And townies, scallies, chavs, it doesn't matter; they're all dickheads anyway. :p
 
The remaining decent society should get together and hunt these chavs down. I have personally declared war on them and if push comes to shove, I would not hesitate to dispose of any of them in a black bin liner. What annoys me, is that I would be doing a job that the government should be doing. Rehabilitation is a myth. These tossers should be put down like dogs and if possible, BEFORE they have the opportunity to reproduce. Dirty, smelly, braindead, clonelike arsholes with vacant expressions and no ambition to contribute ANYTHING to society. I wipe my arse on their white trainers and strangle them with their cheap Argos jewellery.

Pretty much same here.... ie they get humilated every single day...

Ah...Moss side. I remember walking through there at night a few times. I've never been beaten up, but one time I saw about 5 people attacking someone, jumping on his head and everything and I couldn't do a thing to stop it other than shout...Of course, they stopped hitting him. One ran away but the rest decided to come after me. Fortuantely, I know my way around so I managed to out run them and find a convenient police van. Dunno what happened to the guy being attacked though.
 
In brighton, which is teh gay capital of the uk (sadly). There is alot of chavs, discrimination and shit. I've lived here for 11yrs, I know where to go and where not to go at night. But we have tons of police and I never have any trouble. I'm not hard looking i'm short and quite fat :p. But seriously, sorry to hear about that shit. Its uneccesairy. And they all should be ****ing shot.

Heh. This happened a few years ago, when we were a bit younger and stupid:

My mate, was walking through the rec, it was dark, and a few chavs came up to him, threatening to stab him if he didn't hand over his phone and wallet.

My mate, cool as a mofo, whipped out a replica Desert Eagle, and just looked at them. They ran like **** :p

Very stupid, but rather funny nonetheless.

I don't tend to get any trouble, as a group we don't get any trouble. We know some of the alright chavs who are proper hard nuts so it's all good :)

Two of my friends were walking down some back alley somewhere (very stupid) and these two scalls came up to them with a knife and go, give us your phone. One guy who has this cheap ancient Nokia goes, alright, and hands it to him, the scal takes it looks at it in disgust and throws it on the floor. They left with the other guys phone :p

We're talking about Manchester - Moss Side, most of the other places are fine :p. I wouldn't want to compare it to New York :rolleyes:
 
The US should import some of it's toughest gangs over there to show the chavs what a real gangster is like. These pictures I'm seeing they all looking like 130 pound Sally's. They need to have their asses kicked and realize they aren't tough.
 
lol, we do that all the time - they rarely get away with anything :p. Except a few knifings occasionally

Thats the dumbest idea I've heard since sending all the criminals to Australia was fasionable.

Transport all the scum too America, not from...that is, unless they make room for us to live in the US.
