I'm aware of that. I stated right in the first sentence that I was listening to the Hendrix cover. HENDRIX WAS DEAD LONG BEFORE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA EXISTED. Obviously I knew it was an old song, and I knew it was a cover of an older song (the Bob Dylan version)...otherwise I would've said something like, "So I was listening to the original Watchtower song by Hendrix today..."Bob Dylan wrote that song long before battlestar galatica existed.
I'm saying that perhaps Moore picked the song for the lyrics. When you score a series or movie with a song with lyrics, it's either because the song sounds cool or the lyrics have meaning (even if you can twist the lyrics to mean what you want them to mean).
