BattleStar Galactica (WARNING! SPOILARS!!!111)

Bob Dylan wrote that song long before battlestar galatica existed.
I'm aware of that. I stated right in the first sentence that I was listening to the Hendrix cover. HENDRIX WAS DEAD LONG BEFORE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA EXISTED. Obviously I knew it was an old song, and I knew it was a cover of an older song (the Bob Dylan version)...otherwise I would've said something like, "So I was listening to the original Watchtower song by Hendrix today..."

I'm saying that perhaps Moore picked the song for the lyrics. When you score a series or movie with a song with lyrics, it's either because the song sounds cool or the lyrics have meaning (even if you can twist the lyrics to mean what you want them to mean).

Yes but you can't read into the lyrics to reflect BSG story line, it's a ridiculous that the song could bear anything but a small resemblance to BSG.

And stop associating this fantastic song with Hendrix.

Yes you can; I just did. Remember that this wasn't a split-second decision; the episode aired in March but the song was planned since December. I kind of doubt that the producer simply decided to use the song based on the fact that he liked it. That's more of a trailer tactic than songs that're used for opening/ending themes, or recurring/significant tracks.

Also, FYI, Bob Dylan likes the Hendrix performance more than his own. Whenever he does the song now he does Hendrix's version with his lyrics. Apparently the song's writer has a higher opinion of the cover than you do. :p

You'd still be reading to much into it imo.

Something interesting...

Richard Hatch(Tom Zarek) played Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica series.

hehe. richard had to wait a long time for another acting role! :p

I didnt even notice any plot holes during the first season. I just love the show, every bit of it, at the end of each episode I go aagghhh!!!! (in a good way)

but i have to agree about the frack thing, it sounds kinda lame. But veronica mars uses it, too. she hottified that word!

So who is the fifth cylon? I got my money either on starbuck or Gaias

its already been shown sebastian, you must of missed the season finale

Unless you mean fifth as in the fifth of the newly discovered.

No but seriously, are Cylons controlled from a central point by one uber Cylon like in TOS.
I mean that whole we see the world as we want to see thing, makes them extremely easily to manipulate.
Humans are forced to see the world as it is, but cylons can make every illusion real.

If I was to make intelligent robots, thats the way I would do it, otherwise if you were to do it the old way there is to much compromise in control, since intelligent beings need a certain amount of autonomy, but if you give them to much they might turn against you.
So just use religion and build them like they are now, almost like those monks in the Dirk Gently books.

I know who all the cylons are but the last one. There are 13 right? If there are 13, I know 12 of the 13.

I though there were 12, we knew 7, now we know 4 more.
You have Cavil,
Caprica,
Boomer,
Xena(RIP =( ),
Black dude(simon?),
Gaydude,
and Leoben(aka crazy Cylon),

+ now
Fattybear(Tyrol),
XO(Tigh),
Stud(Anders),
and hot black chick.

+ you have the 2 hybrids,
Athena and Helo= Hera
Fatty + Cally = Nicky?

Who the final cylon is, is hard to say.

It could be Rosalin, I mean she shares a dream with Athena, and Caprica about the baby.
It could be Gaius since he formed a bond with six and can see her in his head like she can see him.
It could be Old Adama, since he has that wife thing, where he just like the Cylons imagines something very realistically.
It could be the Lawyer dude, he was fascinated by Lee's granddad, and Lee's granddad did defend the cylons, and sue the corporation that produced them as slaves. And he is fascinated with human law, in almost non human way, like he wants to understand humans.
Or like previously said, it could be Star Buck, seeing he mysterious resurrection. And she could fly that cylon raider, nut then again so could Bulldog

I doubt it's Rosalin, seeing as how she contracted cancer and was going to be executed.

If it were Gaius, then they producers seriously need to rethink the show.

I doubt it's Adama, seeing as how he has a son. Although Apollo could be half Cylon.

I don't know about they lawyer. it seems as though they just sort of introduced him. He doesn't really have enough back story to be the final cylon. The final one has to be a real mind blower.

Starbuck. I bet it's Starbuck. The cylons always said she had a destiny, and I don't see that she fulfilled any kind of a destiny in any of the episodes. I'm betting she's a cylon and we'll see her in the flesh in later episodes.

Roslin heard the music right when the fleet went haywire.

Dead giveaway.

Well could be but I still think it's Adama.

The thing I can't wait to see in the final mini series is how the people on Earth will react...

Bush: OMG teh aliez are attacking!!!111 Fire zee missiles!!

:E

Did she hear it, I thought it was her cancer/treatment

Why would her cancer/treatment make her hear the exact same music all of the new Cylons were hearing?
Even though she was injected with Cylon blood, iirc.

So I've finally started watching Season 1 and I love it. I just watched the episode where they attacked that astroid to get the Tillian (sp?) fuel. Cool stuff.

I decided to do some digging around and found out that they were showing 2 minute 'flashback' episodes of BSG on Sci-fi, detailing William Adama's life as a Viper pilot and a bit after that.

And lo and behold, they have the flashbacks available for viewing online. :D

Click!

Can't wait for the Razor episode on the 24th of this month! :D :D :D!
