Mr. White, peoplesuc is actually right, sadly. It was considered a mental illness, but no longer because people woke up thankfully.
N0N1337H41, interesting theory, but I don't think it's necessarily true. I think we're seeing "higher" rates of homosexuality nowadays because in days of yore, it was scandalous and illegal in most societies to be so. Of course in some, it still is. But less so, and that means more admissions from more people as to how they truly feel.
