Being Gay

Mr. White, peoplesuc is actually right, sadly. It was considered a mental illness, but no longer because people woke up thankfully.

N0N1337H41, interesting theory, but I don't think it's necessarily true. I think we're seeing "higher" rates of homosexuality nowadays because in days of yore, it was scandalous and illegal in most societies to be so. Of course in some, it still is. But less so, and that means more admissions from more people as to how they truly feel.

No, i knew that it was considered that, but I also know that it isnt

Possibly everyone thinking they would be turned into pillars of salt had something to do with it, too. :D

Well... right now I have a girlfreind and I love her alot, but I see it like this: we are all people.. male or female, if you love the person then what does it matter?

I totally see your point, Mr. White (I'm tempted to call you Whitey... Quicker to type) and I applaud you for it in some ways. I totally dig your "We're all just humans, what's the difference between us, really?" stance, and the idea of loving one another irrespectively. But it boils down to personal choice, really.
I know you were kind of saying this already. So I'll shut up now.

Hah, whitey's my nickname in real life

So it's settled then, Whitey :) You lovable scamp, you.

Frankly, I don't mind gay people, as a person. but what they do? Leave me out of it, don't speak to me about it, and don't hit on me.

We dont, and it's not like groups of us just wander around looking for a straight guy to gangrape... its okay to be freinds with one, they wont hit on you...

You know... how its possible to (if your mature enough, some of you are unincluded now) be freinds with a girl if your straight -- JUST as freinds?

Yes they DO Whitey! Of course they do! They've got lurgies... Uuuurrr

:hmph: <Ahem>
The whole "Don't come on to me" thing's stupid. How do they know you're not gay until you've told them? On the flip side, having a guy sidle up to you in a club isn't the MOST comfortable experience in the world. But then I was also sexually harassed at a gig and that was loads worse.

Hah, but then its easy to politely say "Are you hitting on me? Oh, im straight"

and we'll siiiidle on away

BUT YOU WON'T!!!
Sorry, I'll stop that now:)
I know exactly what you mean. The fact was, I'd had a few, he was considerably older than my fine young spring chicken-like self (to my memory anyway) so I found it odd and not so flattering.

Hah, I understand

But thats like, all about uncomfortable situations mate

Yeah they're great aren't they...
Even moreso, I'm unused to be danced up to by almost anyone, really. Letalone guys. But away from that!
Uncomfortbale situations, eh?
<Coughs>thread-jacking in progress<Coughs> :naughty:
My mum almost told me where I was conceived yesterday. The kind of thing I really don't need to know...

Gay people are fine except for the ones who are like HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT ME IM GAY!!! Then they start posting billboards everywhere saying that you shouldn't mind gay people and that they work with you, that annoys me.

A gay dude was like trying to hit on me me in the lunch line in school today, its sort of annoying as hell when your hungry, and he comes up and does that shit and makes me feel like puking and ruins my appetite but I'm still starving..... if that ever happens again just for the record I am going to kill him, f'ing homo... most people say they're fine with gays as long as they don't do nothing.. well I'm not fine anymore. I still feel like scalding my flesh off with boiling water.

edit- and I don't mean he was like being gay near me, he was trying to like make physical contact with me in a discreet manner and stuff.... EWW AHH *Gouge out my eyes and jump off a bridge*... violated... *shudder*

You were in a queue? People do brush up against one another in queues...

You're a MASSIVE homophobe. What's your problem with it?

I think this will be a religious debate, so I'll leave soon, I mean, God dosn't appreciate "gay" yet, somepeople believe that it's okay , while some may detaste it. So, it's really a 50/50 debate.

Tred, DAMMIT!! You said the "r" word... Oh mercy.
ALRIGHT PEOPLE! NOTHING TO SEE HERE. GO BACK TO YOUR NORMAL BUSINESS. NO FLAMES TO SEE HERE.

Not yet anyway...

You are the type of person that I dislike very much. I hope that you're just some 13 year old who still has time to grow up. Just because your daddy hates "them gawd damned fagguts" doesn't mean that you do too. So I hope that you still have time to grow up and you're able to put all of that angst to good uses like helping people, instead of hating them.

That my friends is a severe case of Homophobia.

I like to think of it this way:

Gay men: takes away competetion.
Gay women: is competetion.

spoken like a true homophobe. that's what everyone says because they think it's ok to say "i dont mind gay guys unless they try to hit on me!!! oh yeah i like lesbians...if they're having sex and they're hot!!"

i've known a few gay guys over my life and none of them would think about hitting on a guy who might say something like that...gay guys have their own sense of who's gay and who's not. (which i guess can probably be wrong at times)

the gay guys i've met are pretty cool in general...i had a gay roommate my freshman year in college who was a complete asshole though.

in short...i don't hate gay people...so "everyone" doesn't hate them. they're just people. though i do say "that's gay" sometimes...i guess i might offend someone, but i'm not saying it trying to put gay people down...it's just slang for me (that i guess i should try to cut out)

i still fail to see why being uncomfortable when a gay guy hits on you makes you scared of all gay people....

I don't hate Homosexuals, but i can't say i like 'em either.

@Aethaecyn: Don't let the do-gooders get you down.

Im in the same boat with you. I don't hate them, but i definatly don't like them.

@greeny, palindrome: why exactly is it that you don't like homosexuals?

What people do in their own houses shouldnt matter to anyone. My wife and I lived next door to a gay couple for 3 years. They were pretty cool guys. After getting to know them I actually forgot that they were gay.

Well, the thought of it doesn't sit too well with my stomach.

I especially don't like the way "Queens" act, ok you're queer, do you
really have to prance about like a little girl?

As i said i don't hate 'em, if they want to live that way it's fine with me.

You do know that "queens" and stereotypically gays only make up 10% of us... most are just like you, infact you dont know until they tell you

I don't see whats wrong with gays, they're lives can be really funny, just watch Will and Grace.

that's a tv show...not reality

No, he didn't brush up against me, he like continously was getting close to me, I told him to back up a few times, he keeps doing it, his hands are in his pockets an he has them protruding forward from the crotch area he leans forward and touches my leg with his hand (through his shorts from that area), I was like Dude get the hell off me, he does it again later in line, etc. And he has this freaky smile on his face like he is getting off on it like some sort of pervert and damnit I don't care if he's straight or not that's damn sick that he is trying to touch me with his crotch. I could have gotten him suspended for sexual assault but instead I just left the lunch line, nice old me. It was no more homophobia than a women doesn't like being raped or touched by strangers, its logical.

edit- also its not a disliking of homosexuals, its a sexual preference, had I been gay, and some largely fat and relatively unattractive to my tastes female walked up in lunch line smelling like doritos and tried to fondle me I am sure I would find it just as offensive.

edit- may I also say that the shudder comments were once again not JUST because he is in all probability a homosexual who was doing the said above but couple that with my severe dislike of social interactions and hatred of any physical contact with other humans (including people I know)... perhaps some sort of phobia pertaining to social events, but homophobia = no.

K.. yeah there are dumbass gay people, but there are dumbass straight people too ;)

I think the issue here is that if a gay guy propositions a straight guy it means that he for one reason or another assumed that he's gay also. You can't disagree with that. So obviously some people might get very pissed off, especially if it gets physical.
