Best Buy Says November 4th!

Hey. I just wanted to let you guys know that I work for Best Buy and at an upper level meeting recently, I saw a Power Point presentation that said Half Life 2 would be out on November 4th. I don't know how accurate their info was but thought you might want to know.

I thought it was an odd date since most new releases are on a Tuesday and November 4th is a Thursday.

I also thought it was earlier than expected. I expected it later in November.

I guess we'll see.


BTW, I created this login name just for this post. Admins, feel free to delete it. I didn't want to post under my usual name because it gives a clue to my real identity and I'd rather not get fired.

Im calling bull shit on this becuase i worked at best buy for over a year. If their is one thing i know about best buy, its that them bastages dont belive in haveing meetings unless its thursday around 4 "supervisor meetings" and then at ungodly hours on sunday morning. Sometimes they have meetings on saturday, but their just crap meetings that no one attends.

If this guy is privy to meetings that have power point, then he doesnt play half-life 2.

Although I dount any of these retailers know anything we dont, they do know how long it takes these games to come out once they hit this point. I would say that even if they dont have new info, they are better at guessing than we are. At least eb and gamestop are.

Well, the industry standard date would be November 2nd (a Tuesday). Best Buy is probably accounting for the fact that they don't know when it's going to ship, kind of a buffer sort of deal, they don't want to piss several millions of people off. I have a feeling we'll be seeing it on Steam by November 2nd, that will either be the day it goes on sale or the day it ships.

Very true, the Half Life 2 community is pathetic, if i were VALVe i'd be ashamed to had these people as fans. Which is often why i choose to make fun of the HL2 community.
