Best Game Intro ever ?

In your opinion, wich game holds the intro crown? Now I know a lot of people are probablly going to say "pfft, stupid question, Half-Life of course!"

Well I for one am not going to jump on the Bandwagon, my vote goes to Quake 2 Intro for being so amazing at the time, and still is well good, got me so pumped up it was brilliant.

Maybe a dud Topic but we shall see.

Sorry, I can't come up with anything.

I know I love Thief I\II movies between the missions, but it doesn't count.
 
Oh me forgot about the BF42 intro. Yeah it was cool back in september but its just annoying now.
 
C&C: Red Alert's, with the Chronosphere and assassinating Hitler. Excellent.

Close second would be Urban Chaos's, it was just rather cool, like the game itself.
 
i thought i was the only one here that loved the quake II intro ;) that game was my first love, along with aq2 of course. bf1942 was cool the first time but halflife was by far more innovating.
for the time quake 2)it got me fired up and it wasnt kiddy) was the best and a year later for the time halflife was the best i really dont want to compare they are different almost like doom3 and halflife 2 comparison.
 
Dungeon Keeper 2. What a great intro! And the cinematics are hilarious. :D

Warcraft 3 and Starcraft also have great cinematics.

And as Abomination pointed out, Urban Chaos (an underrated game? ;)) was great and had a cool intro. What ever happened to Muckyfoot anyway?

I think the last game that they made was Startopia, which was pretty good, too. Urban Chaos was definitely underrated though, it really was fantastic. People claim that GTA3 was revolutionary, but this was the game that did it first.
 
As far i remember...Grim Fandango (greeeeaaat game!) had a good intro..oh, make that _the best game ever_
 
Have to say Red Alert. Definetly the most inspiring, and pretty neat theme music :)
 
Half-Life for sure , Looking around on that Tram at everything going on in this complex. Valve really outdid themselves they created a whole complex that you want to explore every inch of.

Red Alert was awsome , concept and all.
 
I don't know if someone already said this already but its the first game I really played. Command & Conquer: Red Alert. When Einstein goes back in time and kills Hitler before the war starts then it goes into the game's cut scene movies. The first time I heard the "Hell's March" song I thought it was so cool and those in game movies were incredible for the time. That is one of the only game beginings I'll never forget.

But EA went and screwed over WestWood and turned it into EAP meaning no more cut scenes/Real Actors in the C&C games :(

There was another but I can't think of it right now :/ heh.

Ah oh my, how did I forget Metal Gear Solid 2, what a sweet, sweet intro!

MGS1 had a neat intro too, but it was kinda short, the rest of the cutscenes made up for that though.
 
oh yeah!, MGS2, forgot about that!, ive changed my mind MGS 2 has the best intro :D

Yeah, that intro wasn't horrible at all, it set a good tone. I still think the HL intro rules though.:cheers:
 
C&C generals, the short sequence in the beginning. I thought it to be quite funny. Or Conflict Zone, also quite nice done. And UT 2003.

You may flame me now.

FFX, what a great game. Sad ending. FFX2 wont be the same without tidus though. That was the most amazing story...

In FFX 2? Hes gone by the end of FFX(wont say how, ok bandit?) And i dont think it would be right if he came back in FFX2, even though he was cool.

I to liked the Quake 2 intro.I just loved seeing that little jet go by the screen then all of a sudden you see this HUGE spacecraft.I would say the quake 2 intro is by far the best on my list of games.
 
Diablo 2. Lovely cutscenes :) nice quality, very nice.
 
It HAS to be Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne ..... Illidian rocks sooo much... god I love Blizzard... :)

For me its a tie between Q2 (In direct contrast to the horrible ending...) and Syndicate wars on PC (remember that one with those dudes gunning down the people with chain-guns?):bounce:
