thats the xms, 1024 $250ish, but the problem is it running 2-3-2-6 1T,

which is the best ram for hl2 and other games? the rig will only be used for gaming. i dotn want to overclock anything. thats why i dont want to go with pc3500, 3200 is good.

the only 2-2-2-5 ive seen on xms is the pc2700, but i get 2.7 gb/s with the pc3200 u get 3.2gb/s .

someone tell me which is best, and if the top two frequencys will ahve that much of a difference? 2-3-2-6 and 2-2-2-6.

Uh, I usally go with pc 3200, never really understood those 2-2-2-6 type things.

If anyone wants to explain that would be cool.

ya but which one, the hyperx by kingston or the Xms by corsair? they two diff companies.

They are pretty close. I believe the XMS is a bit better but for that price you be the judge if it's worth it.
But I perfer Corsair as company anyway. ;)

As for 2-2-2-5 explanation...
Read this article.

I always think of it like this.
RAM Timings is how long it takes you to pack a car, prepare the car for travel and unpack the car at the destination.
RAM Speed (Mhz) is the MPH speed you drive from point A to B.
Of course you want the combination that will get everything loaded from A to B the quickest.

Definitely go with the Kingston HyperX with 2-2-2-6 timmings. It's faster and cheaper than Corsair.

AH hes right. Nice catch.
I didn't even see the timings.

But you might want to consider these.

Mushkin is great RAM. Kingston HyperX is not guaranteed to be BH-5. Mushkin guarantees all their RAM to be Winbond BH-5.

If you're unfamiliar with Winbod BH-5 chips, they're the highest performing chips for the Intel 875 chipset in the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard.

ya know, crabcakes, if you really wanted to respond overboard you could have just listed every manufacturer and link here.
But then again I'm sure you can find a more appropriate listing.

i would actaully buy from the ones i listed.....

..and im not sure wich ones actaully make pc ram modules.....(do they all on that list)?

lol yeah.
Just thought it was funny you threw 12 names out there.
He comes here asking about 2 models and I wonder if he will get confused...
:p

lol asus, when u posted muskin u know what i did/

i just didnt even pay attention to it lol, i got so confused im like forget it im jsut getting the 2 i lsited. lol i realy did not wanan pay attention to it lol.

why would you get two different sticks of ram? i've always had less problems when all my ram is the same model and such.

I don't know who mentioned running two different sticks of RAM, but they wouldn't run in DDR mode. You'd be cutting your mem speeds in half by doing that.

anable i said i cant decide either to go with 2 x 512 hyperx or 2 x 512 XMS somethign tells me hyperx wont live up to all its hype. it seems more application rather than gaming.
