Why is it nobody likes George Lucas exactly?
None of them are very good, but Return of the Jedi is the least worst.
The acting in ep. 1-3 is nothing short of horrible. But the actors are good, the problem is that the only enviorment they have to act in (and in many cases, against), is a ****ing green screen. I wouldn't wanna be working under those conditions. Check out some of Hayden Christensen or Natalie Portman's other movies, they're really not that bad.

He did write the original 3....
It has nothing to do with the green screen, many stage actors have nothing to work with outside of a black curtain and they do just fine, plus, many films have primarily used greenscreens and the acting has come out perfect, Sin City anyone...hell even 300( for the most part).
The real problem...is Lucas, he is a ****ing moron. Watch any interview with an actor who has worked with him and theyll tell you the same thing. he's cold and disconnected. He flat out told Ron Howard that he hates working with actors. Which is pretty ironic considering he is a ****ING DIRECTOR!!! Not only that, but i don't think he can really spot when someone is acting well. If you watch the behind the scenes for ep one it shows like 5 Anikan audition tapes. All four were better then the kid he picked and he even recognizes it, but he justified picking him by saying "he'll look really good once we add the CGI". It's ridiculous.
Wow. Wow. Lucas is such a ******.
The scene where Luke is buring cooked alive in front of Vader, and the camera keeps zooming in to his face as he pans between the Emperor and Luke, you can like almost picture the distress of his face behind the mask, with the music getting more and more atmospheric before he rises up and lobs the Emperor to his doom. Its just like as he stood there, Anakin was fighting Vader as if there was a massive conflict in his mind.
He dies as Anakin Skywalker. One of the best scenes I have ever witnessed.
I voted for Episode 4. I completly loved Hoth.
That was episode 5.I voted for Episode 4. I completly loved Hoth.
Ehhh yes and no. It's not terribly clear how much is 'his' and what isn't. Episodes 1-4 are pretty much his, 4 being the movie it is because he a) didn't know what he was doing and b) most of its script is 'inspired' by tons of other movies. We're led to believe he wrote 5, but Leigh Brackett did some massive rewrites after, with a second revision by Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan (Read the Wiki on it--it's still speculative). I'd guess by the content of 6 that he had more (but still limited) control, judging by the absurdities of Ewoks and the Jabba song routine.he directed them. The "head" writer was someone else.
