Eh, wasn't really looking forward to this one, but might give the demo a try just to see...
 
not too interested, comparing this to the bf2 demo, i was so pumped for that...
 
I am getting this one, and maybe buying the final game if I like the demo.

bf2142 = awsome ?
 
the PCgamer article really got me back into this game. I might buy it if I have enough money at the time.
 
Woah, I thought the demo was weeks/months away.

EDIT: Since it's on major download sites... I guess it's public now, available to all? Impressions are mostly positive atm, from what I saw. Performance issues while entering the Titan and general jerkiness due to the Titan moving, though.

EDIT 2: Nghhh... The demo's 1,08GB, will download overnight, but tomorrow I've got lectures 8am-4pm so i won't be able to play right away in the morning :(

I might end up trying the demo some time whenever 3rd Rock from teh sun finished d/ling, since I have no room currently... :(

We'll see from there if it's going to be worth ANY of my money.
 
I'll try the demo. Doubt I'll be getting the game though. Not a fan of the vehicles and whatnot.

Can we have this moved to the BF2 section and that modified intoo BF2/BF2142?

May download it sometime this weekend, but as BF2 is loosing its appeal to me atm, it will need to be something special for me to grab it when released
 
Pretty fun to play so far. Didn't notice any lame ownage like the choppers in BF2, but I haven't really played it long enough.

The vehicles seem cool enough. There's a strafe vehicle that you control mostly with the mouse and a pretty interesting tank that can freeze enemy vehicles for a number of seconds. Haven't tried any flying vehicles or the walker yet.

The assault rifle is pretty fun to fire, seems like it packs a punch.

All the guns are the same too. Like in BF2 I can tell the difference between an AK47 and a pkm.

In BF21 all the guns are basically "BLUE LASER SHIT PEW PEW PEW"
 
it plays like a shitty buggy bf2 mod......another piece of EA cash cow junk....
 
Well obvisouly its not ready yet, see with BF2 I crash alot, but in this I didn't crash so EA is obvisouly planning an even better crashing experience! :O So when you put in the BF2142 disc to install the game, your pc explodes :D
 
I can't make an account. I have no other name to use in game other than Shamrock, but it seems to have been taken. Even modified versions of the name have been taken. Someone help me in creating a new name.

Looking for download now, and i'll install this tomorrow. Must say i'm skeptical, i'll be glad to remove the beta version which was a waste of time.
 
Honestly, this game is amazing. I don't see why people have complained about it. The guns are definitely so-so, but the gameplay is still Battlefield which makes it great just like the others. I am in love with Titan mode. Haha.
Definitely preordering and purchasing this game.
 
i enjoyed the gameplay very much, but on titan mode it lags like hell and in conquest its jsut fine.
 
dissapointing
this is basically "sci-fi bf 2" that comes with all the bugs and ballancing issues like the original.bf vietnam is a masterpiece compared to this tripe.
let's see how quake wars turns out to be.

the game is OK, but not to the level of excitement that BF2's gameplay provided.

buttom line = not worth £35. its just a bf2 mod.

You guys who played the beta, how much of a difference is there between this demo and the beta? Quicker loading times, less lag and stuttering etc. etc.?
 
I only have 3 major problems with the game at this point.

1: It doesn't let you choose a resolution of 1280x1024 or any ratio of said resolution. Result: It looks like total shit on my LCD monitor, whose native res is 1280x1024. Unless they support it in the full game, I'm not buying.

2: It loves to crash on me at the end of rounds, or whenever im caught in a big explosion. ATI does a VPU recover, sometimes sucessfully.

3: The thing won't stop studdering. My HDD constantly has activity throughout the game. In BF2 it lasts about 2 or 3 minutes, but here it just never stops.

Hate to say it, but its just for your system then. Mine runs almost 100% flawless. There are glitches here and there, but what games don't have glitches these days?
Also, the 1280x1024 thing annoys me also as my LCD also has that native resolution. I don't remember if BF2 had it, or if you had to enter that command before entering the game. Lets hope retail has it.

I have heard lots of reports of end round crashing though, so sadly, you are a lucky one to evade it ;(
I have heard of many accounts of people crashing at end round...so I think YOU'RE the lucky one who doesn't get it :p
