Biased "news" at PHL

Well, after lurking for a long time in these forums i decided to just log in and see what some people thought about how Fragmaster runs PHL. Does anyone else think he is just posting his own biased views by taking articles or rumours posted by other people on the web and ignoring any other kind of information that might go against his slated of views concerning the release date for HL2?

Personally im already tired of it, before all this crap i checked PHL every day to find out what was new in the HL community but lately i have had to resort to searching the web for actual news instead of the pessimistic biased ramblings i find in PHL as of late. Snippets such as "HL2 needs to announce the delay soon" and "On the good side of things, CSX might be released soon" are already driving me up the wall. Whatever happened to reporting news as they came instead of just modfying them as if they were some kind of editorial?

Anyways, wrote a somewhat lengthy post about what i think of him and PHL as of late, i will just paste the post in this thread in case they decide to delete it or modify it.

I for one don't really care either way, if HL2 is delayed it gives me a little more time to upgrade my computer to play it, if not, i get to play it wih my current computer and be happy about the upgrades in the future anyway. I won't get HL2 on the day its released unless i have nothing else to do, probably gonna get it on the weekend.

However i am sick and tired of fragmaster only posting "news" about HL2 "delays", rumours he hears from unreliable sources and other such articles expressing negative opinions about HL2's release date drama.

How about posting some real news for a change instead of posting biased crap like you have been ever since you "announced" that HL2 would be delayed?

All i ever find here is comments made by him such as "HL2 is surely delayed as it never made the gold date proposed by that one guy at gamestop". First of all, i ask myself who set that gold date? Did you have any official word of it at all? No, you didn't you just assumed that you knew about it. Valve has never given a gold date and simply put they don't even have to, for all they care they can just finish the game and send it straight to the retailers without telling the public a word about it.

Anyways, back to the point. My point is, you need to stop being so negatively biased and start reporting the news as they happen, why haven't i seen news about the preloading of HL2 a few days before it's actual launch via means of Steam into people's hard drives? This information is backed up by someone who has actually talked to Gabe Newell in person, is this not worthy or notable enough to be posted up as news? Or is it just ignored because it goes against your views of HL2 being delayed due to Steam's performance?

I will give you a link to the forum posting if you like, because if you don't do it someone else will. More and more readers are tired of Fragmaster inputting his own pessimistic views into PHL and quite frankly if you don't stop fiddling around trying to manipulate the content you WILL lose readers, as simple as that.

If i wanted to read your opinions i would read an editorial, otherwise unless you stop biasing you news you might as well stop calling this a "news" site and call it "Fragmaster's corner of thoughts".

And please do not lock this thread or modify this post, it would only show your close mindedness about this "delay" and how unwilling you are to accept that you may be wrong in your beliefs.

He has a hostility towards Steam based on misconceptions that were easily resolved with even a short browse through the Steam FAQ. He even posted a link to the petition on the front page.

That's why I disagree with him.

PHL is one of the only websites that has resources for Half Life and all of its spinoffs. What would you expect?

if it's "one of the only" that implies there are more than one....go to the other ones if you don't like the site.

99% of the visitors of PHL don't come there to listen to the jack of Frag. It's not for nothing a Half Life fansite. Also, assuming that there'd be more fansites such as PHL because I said so isn't really assuring. The 'one of the only' merely implies that I'm not that sure whether PHL is the only good HL resource site.
