Bird Flu Could Be The Deadliest Disaster The World Will Face

im young, strong, and healthy ill leave the dying to the elderly, infant, and weak. frankly what the world needs is a little "thinning out the herd" and since we dont get eaten by much this will have to do.

frankly im looking forward to watching this unfold, I love a good epidemic, should be entertaining for a while. though i bet this is mostly hype

A part of me agrees, natural selection is non-existant in our world today. Ah hell, once we start going to war with Aliens or zombies, we'll all evolve into emotionless hard asses. :|

Bird Flu is going to be one that most people will be scared of for a while..but SARS?? Canada had an outbreak of SARS in the Eastern part of the Country, but it was handled nicely and it was contained in a small area of the Country. So, I would not think that SARS is a big problem..if Canada can handle SARS, the US would have no problem with it..I think they did too when Canada was mildly infected.

But The Bird Flu is much worse.

with views like those, you deserve to be shot!
he's not entirely wrong, perhaps you haven;t noticed that there are almost 7 billion human beings on this earth... and we happen to be destroying it a bit more every day and eating up resources at an incredible rate, honestly, if you step away from the whole "all humans deserve a chance to live" we really do need a bit of thinning out

correct, unless we find some interesting way to curb wonton population growth or get our asses to mars and beyond, we will very easily overpopulate ourselves down the crapper. Thats why i think think there is a bright side to nature slapping the hubris out of us from time to time, while at the same time recoiling from the horrible loss of life.

how do you make omelettes again?

we killed some trees to make some desks to write on more dead trees about how we need to protect the trees...

sorry I know I shouldn't post while medicated..but its fun

Well, you got one thing right, YOUR opinions are worthless.

His opinions are exactly as valid as yours. No more, no less.

As the age old saying goes...opinions are like assholes, everyones got one. Anyways...when I think of the bird flu I don't think of death and destruction...I think of birdies.

Young, Strong and Healthy is not a guarantee that you will survive the epidemic. A lot of good healthed people died from SARS.

One of the biggest killers in epidemics like SARS is actually an overreaction of the immune system.

Yeah no kidding. The problem is that he comes in to this thread and attacks me personally with his 'opinion'. Like I said, I don't have any problems with opinions, if I think your opinion is wrong I will discuss it with you. But when you come in to a random thread, spew some off topic personal attacks. and never actually paticipate in other political discussions you opinions in that case are not valid.

Thinning out? Sure, we'll start with you then.

Great, another way to die.

I've had my fill of fear mongering bullshit for one lifetime. I was reading on the BBC website the other day that some supposed "expert" on bird flu expected at least 5 million to die in the U.K. alone.

My reaction: bleh.

everyone's gotta die someday, might as well be today since.... IT'S A GOOD DAY TO DIE! ... ... ...:cat:

couldn't they think of a better name for the disease?

ebola, marburg, hantavirus, HIV, SARS, these are all scary names that suit what they are describing nicely. I mean jeez, hantavirus, that sounds really goddamn scary.

but to die of "bird flu?"

lamest virus name EVER

I think a few too many people have been caught up in 'silly season'. There's no politics news because they're off for the summer, so the media has to do a load of filler reports. If you think that news networks are there to bring you news you'd be mistaken. Like many people in this world, they are driven by money are businesses like any other.

So don't start worrying yourselves. You'll face greater danger in a car, or crossing the road.

I like to live dangerously - I only look one way, I just blindly step into the other lane and hope for the best

yeah thats how us X-TREME people live.

and when there's a storm, i hold up a tall metal antenna wherever i go

when i'm driving i make sure to smear vaseline all over the windshield to give it an extra difficulty

and when i'm sleepy, i lie down on train tracks

o NOES!!1 teh burd fluez!

/fear mongering

Shit, I won't be able to eat my healthy oatmeal and egg cakes if all the chickens are put to the incenerator; I will have to resort to another source of less quality protein, like tuna.
