Bitlocker - Anyone using it?

I can't find this detailed anywhere -

Can you use Windows Search for volumes encrypted with Bitlocker?

Normally, when you encrypt HDDs, you can no longer use Windows Search (or any other desktop search) for items on them, obviously. So if Bitlocker(tm) encryption supports searching through an encrypted volume (once you've unlocked it with your password), then that would put Bitlocker in a league of its own.


Anyone know?

Really? I've been using TrueCrypt for a long time and my Desktop search pulls up nothing. I'm using Everything.exe. It's super fast - it can create an index a terabyte from scratch a in a few seconds. Maybe I'll configure Windows Search to only index file names instead of inside documents and I'd like it better.

Can you give me any more details? What search engine are you using? Maybe it's because my entire volume is encrypted that it doesn't work?

EDIT: it looks like it's a fault of Everything.exe then. The encrypted volume doesn't show up in the options, even when unlocked. So are you using the built in Windows Search then?
