Besides that, Black Mesa didn't even invent the Grav Gun. they have their own portal gun of sorts, on that gibbs people. They also have the gluon gun, and the gauss gun. If I had all 3 of those Vs your pussey Portal gun, you're screwed.

I'ts classic, it found Xen, I'd die to have those weapons, it has the Lambda complex, The staff, the labs, resources.

Lemme explain;
BMRF;
Biology, Quantum Mechanics, Trans-Dimensional Study, Missile Silos/Rocket Sciences, Bio Mechanics (Anything else mentioned by the Tram system =P)

Aperture;
Portals. . . OH! And Dark Matter.

BMRF is just a larger (or seemingly so) complex, and has a more versatile approach to science. BMRF is just, TOO interesting a complex, where as everything in Aperture seems repetitive. There is just soo much more to explore =|.

Also, do we have any idea how well the portal gun would handle the launching of cinder blocks at high velocity? I'm guessing not very well.

For me atleast Black Mesa has a much more personal feel - you're saving people's lives {or you're meant to be} but Aperture is selfish.

Wow.. but really, we CAN throw cinderblocks at high velocity with the portal gun. It's easy!
All you need is a cliff, a cinderblock, and a wall.
Put a portal at the bottom of the cliff, put one on the wall, throw it into the btoom one, boom!
Fast things go in, fast things go out!
TERMINAL VELOCITY!

One of the guys says they used a PC tower to break the window in Portal...let it fall for a good long time through a ceiling/floor portal and then put one portal on the wall and it flew across the room and through the window...

I give my vote to Black Mesa; it took a Resosance Cascade, an invasion of aliens and a military clean-up crew to destroy the BMRF and butcher most of its staff. On the other hand, Aperture Science was easily wasted by a single computer program that used neurotoxins like a lamer.
