Black & White 2.

I've played it for a while now.

Pretty neat graphics, I must say. It's really detailed at close-up and the water is very good looking.

Nothing special about sounds or music, except that there was pretty good voice acting.

The steering was somewhat annoying with the hand and all, basically, because you had problem picking people up and you could accidently throw them if you were too fast with the mouse.

And for some reason, it reminded me of Sid Meier's Civilization occationally.

Good has a huge advantage. I took over every town, but the main aztec city in land 8 within 30 minutes. By impressing everyone. I'm 91% evil too.
EDIT: Land 9... and I crashed. Damn.
The volcano mircale made my comp crashed.

My big brutish bastard of a Lion, who enjoys nothing more than plowing into armies, tearing down houses and... playing with his toy. Bah.

I'm on that same land. Still working on impressing the last city.

Any tips? The only way I know of is putting buildings on the right places, but I start using the same ones over and over.

Damn, Wish my game looked that good.

The hand control seems really sketchy... and sluggish this time around...
No biggy though.

Boosting the happiness of individual housing sections really helps - add a Tavern here, a Temple there... I've still got about 13,000 impressiveness to get the last city, too, and I'm tempted to just create a huge army and storm the place, heh.

I left it running all day on Friday while I went to work for 9 hours or so to see exactly how self-sufficient the villagers are. I came back to find a very tall but dangerously skinny cow (apparently the stupid bastard had forgotten how to eat) but my village and it's inhabitants were thriving. Loads of food, all houses full, everyone was happy.

I love this game more than Half-Life 2 or UT2004...
Seriously.

After 3 hours of building your city, massing your army, and training your creature...
You just zoom out and appreciate all of the work you've done... It's truely a wonderful sight to behold.

...

WHEN DOES IT COME OUT IN AUSTRALIA?

I wants it :(

I love it, amazing game. Is it just me that can't help but piss around with the physics of the Lionhead Studios logo on start-up everytime i load the game?:p

Damn this game is fun. But it's too easy, I have never even come close to losing even on the last island.

Reviews dont really do this game justice Im loving every minute of it so far, only complaint is its a little easy.

I bought it today, so much fun :D.

How do you stop breeders? They're just reproducing like baby factories, I can't keep up with the house building.

Pick them up and shake your hand, that should remove the disciple status.

God damn, I wanna buy both this and FEAR and I have... zero money.

*grudginly reinstalls B&W*

Ah. Didn't know that worked. I placed people down on the town center for their disciple status to go away.

How exactly do you get people to sleep? When people want sleep the best I can think of is stop their disciple status and drop them by a house saying, "Use this building". Thank god (errr me :)) there's that ability to mass grab stuff like trees and people.

Click the sky and make it night time :p

All the non-disciples will go to sleep but the disciples will keep working "as it is their divine duty to do their job".

I had tons of disciples so that's why they never went to bed. It'd be nice if all of 'em went to bed no matter what. If I really wanted to keep them working I could just make sure it's day.

There is? How?

Yeah. You can buy it in the tribute menu. Click and hold and drag around all the stuff you want to pick up.

I didn't know you could buy stuff from the tribute menu until the the middle of the third land. So sad. I had about 500,000. I splurged on buildings, sadly, I didn't know you could buy Wonders. ****! I really wanted that Volcano one. I was too low on tribute when I found out.

I went with the meteor miracle :) Damn that owns troops. Haven't used it on a town or anything to see if it damages a lot.

Wow. This game runs unbelievably shitty on my machine.

Athlon 64 X2 4400+
2 x 1GB dual channel RAM – PC3200 2-3-3-6 (Corsair)
GeForce 6600GT, AGP
2 x SATA Raptor, RAID 0

And I get about 20 FPS on all the lowest graphics settings at 640 x 480 res.

Any ideas on how I might get the performance I paid a lot of money to have?

edit: latest nVidia drivers and 1.1 patch

edit2: Hmm, I found this

a lot of users have this problem. Even with FX57, 2x 7800gtx and 2gig of memory, people still have fps issues. Try running the game with "MINSPEC" in the target patch of the shortcut, that will give you a 400% performance boost and the game looks a bit better than everything at low settings. Seems to be some issue with normal maps/shaders

That made it better, not great but playable. At least it got rid of most of the cursor lag I was getting though.

I'm in the Japanese map. One of the objectives tells me to build 10 embellishments. What are they? I've built universities and such. Anyone?

I can run HL2 on medium. How high can I expect to set the graphics on this?

IIRC, embellishments are decorative/luxury items... like wells, lamps, statues, etc.

Has anyone installed patch 1.1? I'm scared about the whole 'save files from 1.0 will not work in 1.1'!

If you can only run HL2 on medium...
You probably won't get much enjoyment from this game...

Low, as low as you can get.
No shadows, no aa, no bloom, no nothing.

I have:

1GB DDR RAM
2.8 Pentium 4 Process0r
nVidia 5200FX (><')

Will it run well?
