I'm gonna cut riiiight to the chase. I'm looking for another mod to write for. Yeah, another one. Because I like doing it. I'm not looking for a mod that's going to waste my time, and I'm damn sure not looking for one that's going to ignore me.

I've worked on more than a dozen mods in the last few years, most prominently as a writer, but also at times as a level designer and project leader. I also design and maintain websites.

Currently I'm working as a writer / project leader / web designer on the Half-Life: Short Stories mod. I'm also writing for TR under PiMuRho, and my requirement on Decadence with Majestic XII is probably nearing an end.

In terms of previous and/or deceased mods, I worked on Sapphire Scar for Doom 3, which before canceled won a moddb award for best story. I worked writing for Cause and Effect for HL2 under Stigmata. And I did some help judging for a fan fiction contest for the guys over at Nuclear Dawn.

Samples are available on request. Everything from screenplays to essays to character portraits to the creation of worlds. I've done single 5-8 hour games, and episodic format. I've done both single and multiplayer, important stories and ones that are fairly background. I try to myself constantly available, but with work and school I often can't be around 24/7, so I'm not looking for any project that will require me to babysit it. Having an idea in mind is a huge plus, buuuut I can always go from scratch.

Blah blah blah, I hate posting threads like this. Contact information is in my profile.

Thanks.

To be honest, I think that mod is a bit out of his league Samon.

Can you write in a period style, say, Victorian as in Dickens or Conan Doyle?

Didn't you hear? Nuclear Dawn is now going to be a Merchant-Ivory-esque period costume FPS.

Hey yorick hit me up on msn [email protected] i need a writer for a short story mod :)

Added! I'll be around all night tonight and probably early morning tomorrow for chats.

Interesting question, actually. I've never attempted to do that before, and being that I've never been a big fan of Dickens, but I do love Lewis Carroll, RLS, Rudyard Kipling, and Tennyson. And omg Oscar Wilde.

I'd definitely be up for learning more about it and giving it a shot, depending on the project of course, mainly because widening my taste and experiences is a pretty big part of my plan.

Grab me on Steam / MSN.

Well, now you've got me interested too.

Go to hell kthx

Well it won't really be trying to imitate the writing style of Dickens, Conan Doyle, Poe, etc. (well, maybe Poe and Conan Doyle), but more an attempt at getting an authentic level of Victorian vocabulary, mannerisms, etc. My aim is to pay as much if not more attention to getting people speaking and acting like Victorians as I pay to getting them looking like Victorians living in a Victorian London.

There's still a lot I need to get down first and I need to figure out just how much dialog I want. I have your MSN so I'll get in touch when I know for sure what exactly I'd be looking for additional writers to contribute. Worth knowing you're up for it in principle, though.

can you write my resume for me?

You aren't allowed to have a resume.

I am very intrigued and refuse to wait until you get stuff down. ;)

Does Yoricks MSN work for everyone except for me? Why do you hate me Yorick? I thought we were friends!

Were Steam not down, I'd say you could always hit me up on that. I keep it on whenever I'm home these days, for HLSS.

Also I don't hate you. MSN is trying to keep us apart. We can't it ruin our love. =\

That's right! "The man" don't want us to be together, but I say "Stick it to the man!"

Can you wipe my ass for me, Shinobi?

I take it you read the work experience part of my old resume, I was desperate and needed rent money

this is why I need his help, I need a positive spin on "El-Ass-o Wipe-O"

a shiny dime to whoever gets that reference
