Did you download a pirated version? :| If so, then:

These devs put time and money to make a game for you and what do you do? You steal from them.

What makes you think that? As i have said before when these questions appear, i have a friend who work in a famous game store(wont tell which one he might get in trouble)..i always get to borrow new games from him after hes done with them! woho! But i guess that can be concidered stealing since neither of us paid for the game.. :monkee:

damn this game is really cool, i never seen any game this authentic...the soldiers act like soldiers would do in real life. They are scared, they swear at the germans and everything...gotta play some more! :stare:

I hear its just DvD-Rom that real sucks for the people that have no dvd-rom like my friend he is pretty p1ssed

Well, it is time to change over to dvd-rom. Switching cds during installation is just really annoying.

DVD-ROMS are pretty cheap nowadays.

Floppy-->CD-ROM-->DVD-ROM.

Are those PC screens because that looks terrible. What are you running it at?

fair enough h00dlum. i checked EBgames today but they said that they were going to be getting it in tomorrow. Hope you're enjoying it. :D

Those screens look like a level in Call of Duty and yes those screens look bad

I cannot wait to play this game.. It looks likes it has the power to be the best war game of all.

Im sure when playing the game the graphics will look much better, those just seemed to look a little worse than the other screens I've seen. It kinda reminds me of Operation Flashpoint. Cant wait to play it. The grittiness is incredible.

First review! It's by IGN.

9.5 Presentation
Overall it's a very convincing and exciting production. The perfect blend of history and fun.
9.0 Graphics
The look of the game is undeniably authentic. Character models are the high point here but the environments and effects are also amazing.
9.0 Sound
Very immersive. The chaos of the battlefield never seemed so near. Voice work is good but the actual dialogue is hit or miss.
9.5 Gameplay
The action is intense and engaging. You'll find the tactical elements are simple to use and are well integrated into the overall shooter format.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
The missions vary a little each time you play them and that's enough reason to try the campaign more than once. Multiplayer is a blast.
9.1 OVERALL

ign says its pc couldn't even handle its highest settings,i was hoping to max it

hmm mp is only for 4 players,i was hoping for each squad member to be human controlled

i dont have the highest settings, but i heard that the PC gfx kinda sucks on highest too....looks decent in motion though...(im on a GeForce FX 5600)

gamespy says it runs fine maxed, maybe ign's comp isnt the best

anybody look at the Gearbox forums recently? seems when everyone started to say the graphics were shit Randy Pitchford came out and gave a pretty good defense..
This kind of thing is not fair. It is especially not fair to make these kind of judgements because it is unknown what kind of hardware these screenshots were taken from and they have clearly been compressed horribly into .jpg leaving all kinds of nasty artifacts.

The reality is that the scene looks great.

And, most importantly, the game is fun.

So is BiA.

These are amongst the best games ever. Enjoy them - don't worry too much about the nitpicks.

And, be careful about judging this stuff with words like "bad" and "awful" - the textures are actually quite good. It's the resolution you're concerned about. What bothers a viewer is not the aestetic quality of the texture, but the resolution of the material being rendered relative to the distance of the camera that is viewing it.

Gearbox artists would use words like "bad" and "awful" when talking about consistency and art direction. For example, the Gearbox artists would forgive the poor mipmaps in the HL2 screenshot. They would not, however, forgive the consistency in art direction between the worn, varied and pocked wall texture contrasting unplausibly with the pristene and repetitive stair step texture.

An untrained eye may not be able to explain the feeling, but both of these shots have a problem and will feel unatural and odd to someone who isn't used to looking at video game graphics.

The biggest problem with the BiA shot isn't the resolution of the wall texture, it's that it contrasts with the crispness of the trees behind it. If the trees behind the wall were even more blurry, you would have an even more natural feeling depth of field sense that would actually make the BiA shot feel more plausible to layman who isn't used to looking at video game graphics.

But, alas, we are still a few generations away from real time photorealism. Until then (and even after then), art directors and graphics engineers make decisions about where to spend their system resources, performance and memory. I think the Gearbox team made some pretty good decisions about these trade-offs in Brothers in Arms. The emphasis was definitely not on trying to prove the best still frame screenshot, but on the the complete package - creating most believable, authentic and engaging true WW2 combat experience ever made. Less walls, more, say, screen effects - there are a zillion tradeoffs.

Each new generation of hardware or system specifications allows us to improve everything and worry about new trade-offs.

Things will look even better soon.

In the mean time, enjoy the games! When you're running around firing and moving, you won't have much time to stop and examine the walls anyway.
Randy was responding to a comparison between a BiA shot and a HL2 shot

I have been playing some more now, and all i can say is that this game is really good. Way more fun to play than "run ´n gun" CoD. I was a little bit sceptic about the team control elements at first but they are really easy to use and the AI responds perfectly.
BiA is all about firefights, you cant just run straight at the enemy and spray, you have to plan flanking manouvers and find ways to outsmart
the enemy. The enemey AI is pretty smart so it can be a little hard to fool them sometimes...

i highly recommend this to all CoD,MOH, WW2 freaks, FPS fans and people who like war movies like Saving Pvt ryan, BoB etc...
