Well guys, I'm jsut a bit bored this summer, so, for kicks and giggles, I will build you a gameing machine! I will scour the internet for best prices on everyhting, and assembale a machine to your specs!

You can opt for one of the multiple plans:
A) Gimme a price. You give me a price and I will build you the best computer for that price.
B)You give componets or qualifications you want. I will fit those qualifications at the cheapest proce possible.

I am now ready.

*NOTE* Please specify if you want a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers included.

**NOTE**I am not actually building a computer for you. I will assemble a list of componets, with prices and URLs for you.

well, though ppl may have different hardware opinions than you, and though i already got my pc prices, i guess you can try to find cheapest prices for my pc im building.

no monitor, im not sure though if i will get my case with the added mouse and keyboard.

you forget the shipping costs... not everyone is living in US or canada.

He didn't include sjipping costs in his price, and mst of the site had free shipping. :)

hey, get a 2500+, and change it to 10x200 instead of 11x166. then you have basically a 2800+, at less than 1/2 that price. i doing it right now with stock cooling too.

hey thanks sidewinder you saved me $50+ dollars (us)

and no ill stick with the 2800+

Sidewinder all I need is a motherboard/cpu bundle, i'm lookin for anything from 1.5 ghz on up, intel p4 or celeron (not amd), with at least 3 pci and 1 agp slot (4x+).. if it has ddr ram slots then preferrably find me some cheap ram, i only need like 256MB, if its sdr ram make it say 3 sdr ram slots, and preferrably an intel chipset tho thats not a requirement.. lol

If you're in the US, only shop at www.newegg.com, anywhere else is not worth it unless you're getting some type of overclocking parts. Aethaecyn, you never specified the price for the parts you wanted, but I'll give you a general idea of what to get.

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 __GHZ C-core
Mobo: Any 875 or 865 chipset, preferrably the Asus or Abit.
RAM: If you have the money, Corsair XMS series. If not, any Kingston or Crucial would be excellent.

i like newegg as well, VERY good prices. the mobo im getting was like $74 at new egg, and over $100 on tons of otehr sites i looked :D. and its all brand new. though some of the items for my new pc i couldnt find at new egg to i had to shop other places. i think im getting the 9800 pro, cpu, and mobo from newegg.

Oh yea, Ridic, don't get a KT400 motherboard unless you can't afford about 40 dollars more for a good nForce-2. If you're overclocking, get the NF7-S (make sure it's version 1.2 or 2.0), if not then get the MSI K7N2 or Asus A7N8X.

considering everything pretty much, its just as good as the nforce2 boards. buying an nforce2 board is not going to make my games run faster considering my other hardware items.

Guys, could you use another thread to discuss mobos? could a MOD delete the posts that aren't releated?

newegg is good, but not always the cheapest. other places have good reps too....

Aethaecyn: I'm not sure if this is for gameing or what, so i'll give you a few options.

Hey, here's 6 different systems based on 3 price ranges and 2 different platforms. I'll configure someone an overclocker's computer on request. These are using the Antec Sonata case, which is my personal favorite. It's a quite heavy, but very silent case with very useful side-load hard drive racks. It comes with a 380W power supply. If you want to get a different case, then I'd recommend getting an Antec TruePower Series power supply.

I made it under 2000. Yay.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent UK site? I'm assuming no...

Thank you, kind sir ankalar.
God dammit it's expensive being a pc gamer. A STUDENT pc gamer.

You giving british prices? if so so how cheap you can get an asus A7N8X-deluxe, athlon xp 2500+, 2x256 corsair xms 2700, any 7200rpm 8mb cache hdd (60/80gb), a q-tec 550w power supply and and cheap decent lookin case.
Cheers,
Squilly

build me a system for around $2000. it's gotta have a pentium 4 at least 2.8 ghz, radeon 9800 pro 128MB, 1024MB ddr ram, NO MONITOR, and at least a 400W power supply, and a cd-rw/dvd combo (that's fast). this is the ultimate test.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2C Processor - $699
Motherboard: Asus P4C800 - $189.99
Memory: Corsair XMS Series PC-3200LL Twin Pack (2x512) - $296

Floppy: Panasonic Black Floppy Drive - $8
Hard Drive: Western Digital 80GB HDD w/8MB Cache - $90
Total: 1817.98

Then some case and an Antec TRUE430 power supply which is probably about 90 dollars.

Well I would like to see how cheap you can build me this system. And if you could give me a price of both the FX5900 and a ATI 9800, please make them 256 megs of memory plz............

Logitech MX700 Mouse

And if you can get me a price of an Antec case kind of like the one in the link, at least the same design(front design and basic shape)
but with a window, if I had to install the window seperatley that would be fine. Plz make the case black as well.

Patten, yours would be 1252.97 with the 9800 on newegg, and 1272.96 with the 5900 (the Gainward one because I'd trust them to make a great GFX card with my first born). If you want I could e-mail you the newegg wish list. Also, you didn't mention a hard drive, did you want one of those?
