Bush Game :P

dude, all the bosses were ****ing hilarious.. anyone who grew-up in the 80s should love this game, regardless of political leanings. the actual gameplay is a terrible mess, but the design is perfect genius. i beat the bush-beast with micheal moore, i thought that was appropriate :)

i couldn't stop laughing when jesus joined our side, omfg.. haha. john kerry should put this thing up on his website lol.

any game with hulk hogan, mr t, a fat ass he-man, and voltron is automatically awesome :)

that ****ing darth rumsfeld was a hard SOB.. did anyone try all the special attacks? i didn't even use any until the last boss.. the a-team one is sweet!

Ah, i remember that, i dont know how i found it, its to long :P

In this case, Foxtrot didn't agree to my first post, so he showed how dumb and ridiculously funny he thought it was by exaggerating that he pissed himself and therefore had to take a shower and change. This shows that he did not agree with my opinions. Again, this was my intention...to get someone to have a negative reaction to my fake opinion. Weee. I win! :E

oh. my. god.

not to be rude or anything, but you are either the saddest or damn right stupidest guy i have ever seen get involved in a serious discussion.

its really quite obvious that people have different opinions, you dont need to go and prove it... "hehehehh! look! someone opposed my veiw!!! i am clever!!! yay!!!"

i seriously am laughing in my seat :)

arent newbs funny?

Yeah there are also a lot of people protesting outside the White House wearing tin foil hats and claiming that the CIA is stealing their thoughts. In all honesty, I wouldn't give Bush the credit to orchestrate something like that.

Well, I was about to post a couple of paragraphs about our political situation, but these kind of arguments never go anywhere, so why bother? :rolling:

Personally, I think Bush is one of the worst presidents this country has ever seen, but that's my opinion, and everyone is free to express their own ideas.

yeeeeaaaaahhh! Funny stuff.

Cool. Glad I could make you laugh. I'm not a sad person though...and I'm not stupid either. Oh and even though you did not intend to be rude, you succeeded. How can you say "Not to be rude or anything" and then insult me by saying that I am either extremely stupid or "sad?" It's like saying "Not to be dumb or anything, but 1+2=4,500."

I know people have their own opinions. It's just every time that someone around me gets in a debate, it turns into a war about who is right. You know how sometimes people can agree 100% on some subjects? Well, from my experience, this isn't one of those subjects. Nobody ever seems to agree. This is my experience. It probably isn't yours, but it is mine.

Anyway, I should hope you're laughing in your seat...where else would you?

Didn't someone start a thread with a game making fun of Michael Moore just a few days ago? Most people started crying and saying what an "immature bunch" those conservatives are. How dare anyone poke fun at our lord and savior Michael Moore! When it's Bush being made fun of it's ok. This is just an observation I made.

I think its because 80% of these boards are full of teenagers who are swayed by their teacher's anti republican pursuasive propoganda. <shrug>

it's a weak observation and a poor characterization. here's the thread:
http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27279

i found nothing in there to come close to "crying", much less any of your other over-the-top descriptions. the majority of the comments are about the "game" design, which anyone over the age of 5 would surely agree is pretty lame and entertains for about 8 seconds max. there was next to no discussion of moore or his politics.

dreamthrall characterized "moore-haters" as immature, not conservatives.

It's actually the same with alot of colleges and universities as well, and has been well documented, as many teachers attempt to force their views and shape their opinions into the minds of young people rather than give them the knowledge of all sides to think for themselves.

do you have al link? I would love to see proof of the accusations that you guys are making against teachers... I'm not in school, haven't been for a while too bad i can't afford school thanks to this administrations spending orgasm, and tax cuts for the rich. My views come from myself, i've never seen a michael moore film, and i actually liked bush pre election 2000. I hate his polocies, and despise his character. What he's done to my country is un excusable. And if you think some teacher, or director, or tv show somewhere made me feel this way then you watch too much damn bill o' reily or scarborocountry because thats where the propaganda is, not AP and Reuters. As far as the game goes, pretty funny, but very boring.

Hating Bush is the cool new thing for the kids to do, all the kids are doing it!

i just find it hilarious that when bush is made fun of, it's so wonderful. yet when moore is made fun of it's immature and not funny (not only referring to that thread).

perhaps you have a point, but it's not applicable to this situation. as i pointed out, the bush game is well done and quite funny (even raziaar thought so). the moore film is poorly designed and boring.

you find it funny when moore is made fun of, right? why should you care what other people find funny?

yeah its popular to hate someone who turns your economy to crap, starts illegal wars, sends friends and or family to die in a foreign country for profit, and lie to you all the while. Go figure, I would have guessed people would have been ok with that, but thats just me /sarcasm

http://chronicle.com/free/v50/i23/23a01801.htm

There are more sources out there... I first started reading about this years ago.

One Boulder student who has filed a complaint through the Web site is Meaghan McCarty, a junior. In her "Social Problems" class, she says, the professor would often speak over her and try to discredit her arguments during class discussions of issues like poverty. When she raised her concerns with the professor after class, Ms. McCarty says, he told her that no one agreed with her, and that she should consider taking a course with a more conservative professor. Ms. McCarty's professor could not be reached for comment.

"I'm not here for my views to be popular," Ms. McCarty says. But "it goes too far when a professor starts to stifle students' own thoughts. There should be less of their own opinion and more facts from both perspectives."

just a snippet of a super long page <wobbles> It basically gives you an insight on what I was talking about.

do i care? nope. i think the bush game great! and i didn't necessarily think the moore thing was that great. it's just that there are so many people around that can dish it out but they can't take it.

thanks for the link, at least you provide some proof. But can you actually go anywhere without someone expresses their political opinion? I mean we are sitting on a video game message board screaming our opinions, i'm sure you would find the same in classrooms, doctors offices, television, movies, factories etc etc. Does it mean we have to listen? Does it really make a difference? I can watch fox news and still hate bush surely to god i could take a class with a conservative professor and still hate bush. And to address the popularity of hating bush, look at my location, i live in the south.. conservative capitol of the world. I say how i feel and continuosly get shot down at work, home, with friends etc but it still doesn't stop me from thinking how i think, and if anything it makes me less popular, so don't even go there.

And your sig is great moz4rt, flush the johns hahaha so the republicans have resorted to toilet humor, i guess they really are running out of comebacks... ;)

I think you're misinterpreting what I found funny about the video. I thought the character drawings were humerous, and the part where tron suddenly bursts in and does that whole thing. Just because its so 'out of the blue'. I barely watched it through, so I couldn't say whether or not it was well done, but my perception of its hilarity is different than yours, in a non political way.

Well, the point is... teachers are there to teach students and prepare them for the world ahead. It is not their job to, and actually against their occupation to fill the heads of their students with propoganda. They are supposed to educate and enlighten the students from a non biased position of authority. Young minds are very impressionable, and can very easily switch their views on matters for the wrong reasons, even if they normally would wish not to... if they are feeling unnessesary pressure and humiliation and dissapointment from those they would consider their teachers.

oh i just thought of something else, what about the religous institutions going against the democrats this time around, if you ask me they have a little more pull then a proffesor, so you see both sides are getting it, it just seems one side complains more than the other :) j/k

well, we agree on something. it seems like everywhere i go people get into a political discussion. i hate becoming involved but i guess there is something deep down in the bottom of my heart that tells me to say what i think. i wish it would go away. i waste so much time in these stupid political debates.

glad you liked (sort of) the sig

I'm the same way... I have this irresistable, indeniable, unsatiable urge to express my opinions! ARGH!

Post a link please? I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I don't watch the news all the time, so thats likely wise. I'm just interested in learning what you are talking about.

i feel ya moz4rt, i'm the same way, i hate to get into these threads, but for some reason or the other I always do. And yeah i like the sig, kinda clever :) guess i could change mine to burn the bush in 04 eh?

not at all. i assumed that most people would appreciate the design of the game.. things like character drawings and scene creation (like voltron's intro). you said that you thought it was funny, even based on your limited experience, and i merely noted that you said that. i did not mean to claim that you thought the game was "well done", although i can see how my statement could be mistaken as such.

I have a feeling I barely scratched the surface of the 'game' to be able to judge it completely. I didn't even get past the starting story... there was no 'gameplay' yet when I stopped watching.

Hmm, I did a search for the same thing, only against bush... and came up with alot of hits too :-/

Anyways, just some Kerry jokes to lighten my mood :-P

"John Kerry suspended his campaign for five days this week in honor of
President Reagan. And right now, he's ahead in the polls. How's that make
him feel? Disappears for a week and he's up in the polls. What else can he
do now but go into hiding." -Jay Leno

"John Kerry met with Ralph Nader last week. Both sides of every issue were
discussed. And then, Nader spoke." -Jay Leno

"The campaign for the White House is heating up with John Kerry taking heat
for throwing his Vietnam medals away, getting a $1000 haircut, and wearing a
1970s wig known as 'the Leno.' There are really two sides to this story. And
America can't wait for Kerry to present both of them." -David Letterman

"John Kerry fell off of his bicycle over the weekend. He went for a Sunday
afternoon ride, fell off in front of the news media. Luckily, his hair broke
the fall so it's not as serious. ... Thankfully, Senator Kerry was not
seriously injured. In fact, when the police arrived, Kerry was well enough
to give conflicting reports to the officers about what happened." -Jay Leno

"Please explain to me why John Kerry sounds more dickish telling the truth
than Bush sounds when he's lying. How is that possible?" -Jon Stewart

"We make jokes about it but the truth is this presidential election really
offers us a choice of two well-informed opposing positions on every issue.
OK, they both belong to John Kerry, but they're still there." -Jay Leno

Hmm, maybe its time for me to go to bed :-P

and you don't suppose there are conservative teachers doing the same? I know there are, I used to have one...

There is no doubt that there are, but Most from the leading colleges and universities have expressed their stances already.
