Got RA2 for my B-day when it first came out...I was stoked. Played it for days on end. Then I beat it, and was sad..because I played online, and people just Mirage/and lazer tank thingied me to every game. I gave up.Devvo said:c&c gold version! runs on xp
bought RA2 today as well, 4.99

What you need to do is make two 'virtual discs', or in other words, two versions of MAIN.MIX. I'll number the steps I took sequentially to do this.
1. Create a copy of MAIN.MIX and name it 'MAIN(SOVIET)'
2. Rename the first MAIN.MIX to 'MAIN(ALLIES)'
3. Go to http://xccu.sourceforge.net/ and download the XCC MIXER and the XCC MIX EDITOR
4. Using the XCC MIXER, extract movies1.mix and movies2.mix and export both files to your Red Alert drive.
5. Rename movies1.mix to moviesallied.mix and movies2.mix to moviessoviet.mix (just for categorization)
6. Open both MAIN.MIX's from Step 2. and delete movies1.mix and movies2.mix from the MAIN.MIX's
7. Rename moviesallied.mix back to movies1.mix
8. Open XCC MIX EDITOR and add the movies1.mix to the MAIN(ALLIES).MIX and save
9. Delete (or rename) movies1.mix
10. Rename moviessoviet.mix back to movies1.mix
11. Open XCC MIX EDITOR and add the movies1.mix to the MAIN(SOVIET).MIX and save
12. Delete (or rename) movies1.mix
That should be it (worked for me anyway)
Now whenever you want to play either Soviet or Allies, just rename the corresponding MAIN(*).MIX back to MAIN.MIX and the movies should play fine.
Should work, otherwise EA are dicks. Of course we all know they are, but still!dys4iK said:Can anyone tell me if this pack also works with windows 2000?
