Call for Help is back on G4 ?

Thats right Call For Help is back in the US. It will start airing August 29 CFH will be on G4 weekdays at 11a Eastern/8a Pacific and weekends at 6 and 7a Eastern. Heres a link to Leo to get more info.

I refuse to watch G4 since they took over TechTV... the network has become so juvenile and trite. They actually had a show rating the top women of gaming... no, not female gamers. They were rating the characters. Didn't stick around long enough to see who won.

But if Leo's involved, it might not be too bad.

whats so great about that show? I hate all the cheesy ****ing jokes and hosts on that network, just cannot stand them. Only decent shows are g4Tv.com, Icons, electronic playground, and judgement day, the rest is just bullshit. Oh, and G-Phoria was a joke, that has to be the only video game award show where teen celebrities are praised more than the ****ing developers.

Sweet, Leo was like the best person on TechTV. The Screensavers is still on but its called Attack of the Show now. Yes, i know. It's a very stupid name for a television show.

Ummm... that's why people liked Call for Help so much (well, until Leo Laporte left and they replaced him with that curly-haired pansy). That's why, if you look back in the archives around the time of the merger, I was vehemently opposed to G4 taking over TechTV (which, actually, had a much larger number of viewers). I knew exactly what would happen. At first, they said they would maintain the TechTV shows/staff... but it didn't fool anyone. It was obvious the merger was just to eliminate the competition.

I watched it back when it was ZDTV (Ziff Davis TV), the Screen Savers were Leo Laporte and Kate Botello, and it was on "DirecTV channel two seven three." I remember seeing a review for the original Half-Life on ZDTV, so it must have been at least 1998. Sure, it took a little while to get used to the name change a few years in when they switched to "TechTV"... but I think it was a good decision. For the people that never watched TechTV... it wasn't trying to be cool by putting attractive, young people on TV even if they suck at it and look terribly awkward... unlike G4. TechTV was a respectable network with loveable on-air personalities, varied and informative shows, and a wide audience (even my parents watched it by choice). I didn't get annoyed by a single person on the whole network... whereas I get like an 80% annoyance rate with G4.

Who else used to watch it back in the day?

In fact, as those of you who have been watching it know, it's really more like the Screen Savers of old than Call for Help used to be, especially now that Kevin Rose has agreed to appear on the show twice a week. We'll get Patrick up to Toronto, too, I promise.

Sweet! It's like they're bringing the whole Screen Savers gang back... minus a few of the people "behind the scenes" (even though they usually got a little bit of airtime).

It's been down here in Australia/Canada for ages. Leo always says that he has been trying to get back on in America...looks like he has succeeded.
