Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, stoked?

Ok then.

They really need to release Game2!
 
You know, CoD 2 is one of dominating forces in online gameplay at the moment, because those HUGE bunch of people worldwide love the quick paced action and tactical opportunities the game offers. Its also a perfect game for clans to utilise.

The CoD franchise is very successful, just because you dont like it, that doesn't make it so.

What's the point in telling me that the CoD franchise is successful when I already admitted that it was?

Naturally, my opinion of it is mine and mine alone. I just feel it's a travesty that such boring, recycled, shit gameplay gets such popularity. My guess is that this has less to do with "tactical opportunities" and more to do with the fact that even an amputee chimp with half his fingers cut off could play these games.

What I'm reading sounds like - for the most part - any of the previous CoD games, but now with a modern flavor.
 
Well im happy with that, but i think Quake Wars will be the next major online shooter.
 
Didn't know the ability to see in the future was possible, but ok then.

And don't beat up on me, I'm still on HL1 and cs 1.6 :P.

It says release of summer 2007. Let me guess, this has already been pushed back? If not valve will wait until fall of 2007 to tell us its been delayed...again.
 
Nnnnngh. Still looks like typical CoD to me. Get some briefing, move forward in a big, unorganised jumble, meet aload of enemies about 5 seconds in, kill, kill, kill, move into a area full of convienient cover, watch the guy in front of you take a few hits before getting into a prone position to shoot at guys in said cover, kill guys 2 metres away from you, kill some more abit further away, etc.

Goddamnit.

qft, while graphically it looks excellent gameplay wise it still looks like typical cod with a different coat of paint :|
 
Looks like sex to me. This and I even recognise how similar it looks to past incarnations beneath the new coat of paint.

Plus my mind is reeling with the thought of some potentially awesome squad-based MP... and coop? Oh please god let there be coop.
 
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the COD games - I'm still plouging through COD3 and I love the MP - it's just I wanted something a lil different. See earlier in the thread for what I'd like to see next (plus Sulk's post) but alas, I'll have to wait for something else from a different company.

I'm looking forward to fighting with modern equipment because I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff (really, really hoping for a British segment - SA80's, Challenger II's, all the accents, etc) and if the MP is anywhere what it's like in COD3 then it'll be double the awesome playing with, as said, all the modern day stuff we see today + more (e.g. what the hell was that rifle being used in the video above?)

Maybe theres some alternation there, it's hard to say accuratly, but from that video... /sigh

Like I said, I still play them, I still have fun, but I think it's time for a change now. But like I said also, obviously Infinity/other devs. of CoD don't seem to want this at all, so I'll keep my eyes open for something else.
