Call of Duty 4

Thats kind of bull shit, what happend to the last 2 call od dutys? They never made it out to the Pc.

CoD2 was made for PC and ported for xbox360. CoD3 was developed by another studio (treyarch). CoD is probably never going to be "PC exclusive" again, but as long as they don't abandon PC completely (and even develop primarily for the PC) I'll have to be happy with that. Beggars can't be choosers.

Treyarch are (probably) working on a new CoD, and that may or may not be consoles only like CoD3.

I've enjoyed all the COD games thoroughly, but COD1 and the expansion, United Offensive, are in a league of their own. Fantastic games. Might install them in a bit, actually!

Huzzah! Guess I jumped the gun on that no PC business. Very good to hear :)

*re-interested*

*twiddles thumbs for some gameplay footage/infos*

The trailer is apparently all in-game, except for the logos/flags.

Call of Duty: The Big Red One for consoles was quite excellent.

Yeah I loved that for the Xbox. Finest Hour was a bit of let down as it was pretty much just Medal of Honor: Frontlines (except for the settings) but Big Red One was vereh well done.

In-engine. I want to see some gameplay, not people walking around with guns in cool lighting.

they really were outstanding, online was great too, particurly UO's added gametypes and vehicles...

i got cod2 for pc and then got cod3 for xbox360 but none really gave me the enjoyment of the original and the expansion.

I really hope it's more like the original Call of Duty. The sequel was just pure 'meh' to me, at least in terms of multiplayer anyway. Everything was so...console-ised, if that's even a word.

That, and the levels were really, really good. I remember watching Band of Brothers, the two episodes where they are fighting The Battle of the Bulge and then the attack on the village Foy and thinking ''goddamn this would be sweet play'' and then low and behold, the first two missions of UO were defending the line then attacking the village.

Installed COD1 today but I've played through it recently at a mates so I wasn't stuck into it, gonna install UO now though.

yeah those levels were great, they ripped it so blatantly though lol :P

setting the game in a fictional modern setting kinda loses some of it's appeal. the first Call of duty was hyped as a realitic war experience, putting you in the boots of an everyman during various campaigns in a real war. With this latest iteration they take a step back by making you the focus of the game instead of just another soldier in a war as with past cod games

the plot (what little they show/imply) looks generic as well

WWII wasn't generic? War, things go boom, players side wins.

how can ww2 itself be generic? think man ffs

I'm telling you WWII riped off WWI like in so many ways. It's worse then family Guy.

edit: Jesus ****ing chist you have 25,000 posts, and a wife, and a child, and a job, and a gas guzzling SUV. How the **** do you spare the time?

ya they completely lifted the killing part from ww1 ..before ww1 all war was very much like touch football

and since you all say the first was better them should I get it?

and I am in a crusade for old PC games

Get it, but the second is better [if you play on veteran].

It's a fantastic game. Make you sure you get United Offensive, the expansion, too.

They claim everything in the traier is cut straight out of the sp-game, except the intro/outro (man's eyes) and the flag logos.

FO RIZZLE? :O

I'm not sure if that bodes well or not... it does look pretty awesome in parts, but some of it still looks very on-rails. But then that's always been CoD I guess.
