no i just recorded demos and used commands like startmovie whatever and host_framerate 30 and put screenshots together in videomach
 
I would host it if I didn't know that my hosts have serious problems with large videos.
 
what map do you use. You can host a file up to 20 megs at angelfire just compress it way more
 
i just made the map myself with hammer that came with the sdk tools

you can see a loop i made in the back which i tried to complete with my buggy..

which failed miserably =p
 
Andy - I also asked this question to DieScreaming about his videos... how did you make it? I was under the impression that we couldn't use HL2 enemies etc, without the SDK.
 
He spawned them into his map with create npc commands i think.

haha I don't know if anyone else has watched the video yet...but it is awesome! I let it download over night because I thought it might be worth it, and it was.

I really did enjoy it...and I'm not THAT easily impressed.

i have no idea how long angelfire will last though -_-
 
well the movie itself is composed of around 15 demos itself all shot with different angles and lots of reloading of a saved game file.

also the demo would have a big decrease in fps
compared to the constant 30fps in the video
because all that shooting and ai is very intensive and taxing on my cpu.

if you have a computer capable of running a 100+ unit battle at 30fps .. please leave your address :E

also the maps custom and its quite large itself and i think you would need it for the demo to work

i actually just picked a spot and randomly shot off the rebar? and after i found a place with nice angles i shot a bullet where my crosshair was and then a bullet under my position..

then i just ran off in search of the rebar on the floor and put a npc there.. and went back to where i was and did it again =)
