RUN! It's Google in human form! It's become self-aware!

Hey ma252, I know we've talked in another thread but I just wanted to give you a quick tip. Most of the people on this forum are pretty clued up and know their stuff. As you might be able to see...we all type properly! So although it's very sweet you are trying to answer everyone's questions about HL and PC specs we are fine for gurus or messiahs for the time being. Just enjoy your time on the site and contribute to forum discussion ;)

Awwww look at Hectic Glenn being all sweet to the new guy.

Looks like he gets the first turn now.

Will Half-Life 2 run on my toaster?

I'm just gonna sit back and wait for his 'Will it blend' thread.

I'm kind of a introvert. Could I get into Second Life?

Whats the system requirements for halflife 3? Should I upgrade now or should I wait ten years?

You should buy a computer a month before it is to be released, and then wait about a year until it actually does get released.

So I have an AMD K2 500 and 256mb of pc133, which crysis would you recommend for me?

(crysis * farcry 2)/(crysis * farcry) is your answer my child

Go easy on him Glenn. He doesn't bother me, I got my Norton Anti-Sarcasm up and running.

Minesweeper will not run. Upgrade your PC!

Today I kept getting this error at boot:

Non-system disk or disk error
Replace and strike any key when ready

Anyone know what I should do before I reformat? My computer won't boot! I dont know if it helps but the floppy disk that is in there makes a lot of noise right before this happens.

Try booting up with the CPU fan removed. I hear they can cause problems like that.

I absolve myself of any and all responsibilities thereof.

Edit: If you were serious somehow, don't do that.

I remember watching a tech demo for Half Life 2, showing off the Source Engine for the first time infront of journalists etc.

Some guy shouted out 'Will this run on my 486?', which made me crack up along with them. Used to have a 486. In fact Im pretty sure a 486 was my first PC back in the day.

You know you should machine-wash and Temple-dry your computer once every 6 months right?
That poor thing must be in full of dust.

Good Luck.

It didn't see the OS to boot to. Either the disk is bad (probably not) or it is looking in the wrong spot. Make sure you don't have anything set to boot first (floppy/cd rom) unless that is what you are trying to do and make sure the correct HDD is set to boot. Most people get this error when they mess with how their drives are configured and don't have something set right rather than it being a bad drive or a messed up install and needing a reformat.

Change any settings for the HDD controller or unplug a drive?

Sorry Asus, that was my attempt at being funny. I thought the floppy gave it away.

Water Cool your PCs guys, and remember the saying:

Make sure you seal all the cracks
Before you turn on those taps!
