Children of Men

Oh man. IT IS AWESOME. The unique mix of sci-fi and gritty reality delivers a shocklingly pwnful punch. An example of this is how Theo secretly steals the car keys to all the other cars, and then escapes in one. But the car won't start, and he has to push it to get it to work. An epic scene shows the unstarted car getting chased by rebels, as they try to get Kee back in their hands. They drive in a mudpool and the car comes to a complete halt. Theo starts pushing the car from the back while the rebels behind him get their guns ready. Just Plain Awesome.

By the way: Pull My Finger.

Spoiler tags next time please. Some of us happen to live in better countries and haven't seen it yet.

Believe me, it's only the very basic layout. The actual scene itself is much more enthralling.

I don't remember him doing that. Why would he do that, then go to the bother of disabling the one car by pulling something out of the engine?

What a c unty thing to say. I think it would be quite apt to lay out the whole plot in response to that.

He's joking around. Chill.

I would not be happy at all if I saw the entire plot spoiled before my eyes :|

How is asking for a spoiler warning a "c unty" thing to say? Some people like to be surprised.

He refered to "better" countries than the UK. Twas a joke.

woah, MUST SEE!! looks like an excellent movie, we need more stuff like this.

EDIT: aww...not until christmas? this might end up being the first movie I've ever pirated...

I'm not talking about the plot spoiling, obviously.
Tell you what though, I'll promise not to spoil the plot of Children of Men, if you promise not to post spoilers if someone in Canada ever makes a film anyone cares about. Deal?

someone steal the movie from a theatre over there and send it to me i want to see it so badly

Don't get out much, do you?

Stop pissing all over my thread, you two! He was doing what we call taking the piss, Pomegrante, as actually reading upwards might reveal...

That looks awesome. Nice use of Sigur Ros at the end there, too.

Yes! I just saw the trailer in the theater... we went to see The Prestige... and I was sitting there thinking, "Hey this movie looks interesting" and then Sigur Ros came on, and I was like "Oh wow it's Sigur Ros! This movie must be awesome." :D

Anyways I'll probably go see it with my roommate over Christmas break.

looks awesome . i read about this in a magazine awhile ago, might go see it soon

Things it reminds me of:
- Y: The Last Man
- 28 Days Later
- V For Vendetta
- Half-Life 2
It also reminds me of that old N64 game BattleTanx.

God damn I want to see this, similarities to poor 90's-era console games notwithstanding.

You know what this reeeeeally reminds me of? P.D. James novel "children of men", they should make that into a movie.

Your a dumbass. 'Nuff said. :|

i saw this movie this arvo and i gotta see its one of the best ive seen. I loved the way it was done, obviously i cant say much cause of spoilers but wow just all these little things that make up the bleak future ... and so many parrallels to Halflife 2 i just wanted to scream it out in the theatre, even in skirmish scenes the ambient noise was exactly the same ... throw in the combine and this movie would be about Halflife 2 .... sooo good

I hereby revive this thread so that our colonial chums may make good use of it.
