Christian Bale goes crazy (AUDIO)

I'm in love.

(Seriously though, what an over reactive nut)

What a dickhead, but it has been known. He attacked his mom and sister in a hotel room awhile back.

he is a crazy bastard...i bet he's pissed about not winning

Apparently it is from the Terminator set, Bryce being Bryce Dallas Howard.
Bruce Franklin is the first AD and Shane Hurlbut(Cinematographer?) is the guy he's yelling at.

Fukin' lol when he rushes him

''LETS GO AGAIN....NOW!!!!!!''

Basically his personality is like Patrick Bateman in real life.

i'd yell a lot too if my name was Christian

He just needed to be told to get a life and stfu back at him.

Cant stand when people think theyre better than others.

What an absolute prick, completely changed my opinion of him. ***king twat.

The only strange accent I hear kicks in when he says 'hey its ***king distracting'

Couldn't have said it better myself. Maybe he should have been told to shut his lisp speaking mouth.

I must admit it's funny, but I actually understand where he's coming from. He's trying very much to be in the scene and the guy is clearly being disruptive off camera. He does go over board, but I suspect it's been a long day (Films are arse). Whomever the sound guy is is probably going to get fired for sure though.
Whats the matter then? He can't do a scene if everything is not perfect?

Still, he could have bitched at him once and got it over with. Instead he brought the guy down and went nuts when what the guy did wasn't that bad. (The guy even said sorry, so I think that's a good indication that he was not going to do it again)

Christian Bale doesn't have kids does he? Man, I can not imagine Christian Bale dealing with the mistakes that children make.

Char.

that same reactions will be the ones I will made when terminator 4 comes out

Are you trying to point something out to me? Or just agreeing with both me and Sliver's posts?

Because if you are trying to point something out to me, his sister and his mom are most definitely NOT his children ;)

Very amusing, but it's half and half. Bale went way overboard but you know, long hours, long time on set, trying to film a scene, trying to be in character -- it must be hard hitting when that happens. But yeah, Bale took it way too far.

Wait, shit. Am I forgetting how to read?

F*ck it! NO!. F*CK IT WE'LL DO IT LIVE.

Oohhh, that Christian Bale, always such a nice guy.

No, wait, nevermind.

I'm not excusing him, but the plain truth of the matter is all we have is the audio to go on and some preconceptions about Bale (he fell out with his mom because she was trying to weedle him for money..afaik there was no physical abuse). Fact of the matter is, they might be 20 or 200 takes into a scene and this guy is unfortunate enough to be distracting him during the shooting doing stuff off camera. People blowing up is ugly, but it isn't necessarily always unjustified, or a bad thing. There were arguments on set pretty much everyday of Blade Runner, but the result was a fantastic movie.

Well Bale even says himself to the man "you're a nice guy", he wouldn't have said that if he didn't mean it (because he just tore the guy to shreds anyways)

So here is some studio worker who unknowingly made a mistake. Hey, here's an idea Bale, tell the guy to cut it out the first time he does it, Instead of blowing up after several times. It's really not that hard.

Being a studio worker certainly doesn't make you a lot of money, I can tell you that. So he's a noob, everyone is at first, give the guy a ****ing break you pompous millionaire dickhead :p

It's the Cinematographer, not a studio hand, so yes the guy should know better than to be walking around and fiddling with shit. When they say 'quiet on set' in a film they mean it.

My guess is Bale just snapped and went looking for a fight. He didn't get it and was just plain too damn proud to apologise. No one seriously stays THAT angry for that long after the fact - especially when the guy said he was sorry.

Still, I couldn't help but lol.

Either way, still doesn't call for that sort of overreaction, especially when you are someone who has a much larger sum of money than he does.

Would he be the best batman if he took shit from average joe?

I can see why he would be upset. When you need to concentrate on doing your job and there is someone who knows better just doing something he shouldnt out of the corner of your eye, it can be pretty aggravating. Same goes for things like golf, where people in the audience are expected to be quiet and still when the golfer is about to take his shot.

Add that to a person who is aggravated already over something unrelated and you get a yelling at. Assuming Bale apologized after he cooled down, I wouldn't hold it against him at all. Its pretty normal tbh, and you dont have to be rich, famous, or a douchebag to explode on someone like that. Its all in the circumstances.

This. Apparently the audio is from sometime last year as well, not yesterday as some people imagine. Shane is still on the film.

Agreed.

Really reveals himself as a prick here IMO. I actually can sympathise with him ripping the guy a new one because he's frustrated, and the tech has (to Bale's mind) ruined a scene in which Bale may have to heavily emotionally invest himself. That's a tough thing to manage and must be mindblowingly infuriating when someone screws it up for you.

But what makes him think he needs to, or is allowed to take it out on this guy for minutes on end? Then, and this was the clincher for me, threatening to 1) kick the guy's arse and 2) walk out on the movie if the guy wasn't fired - that's just 100% distilled arrogance. Like he's already crossed a line by treating this supposed 'amateur' extremely unprofessionally, due to frustration, but that's forgivable. However he goes on and on with it, until he eventually crosses another line where he's clearly just drunk on his own sense of power and importance. **** that arrogant prima donna shitbag, I can't tolerate behaviour like that.
Assuming Bale apologized after he cooled down.
Yeah, see I wouldn't assume that myself, and in any case it would have to be quite a masterful apology to mean anything. Anyone can say 'sorry, bro, got hot under the collar', doesn't mean shit unless they mean it.
