Interesting link. Was reading in their off-topic. Found this to be interesting...

According to Jordan, morale among our guys is very high. They not only believe they are winning, but that they are winning decisively. They are stunned and dismayed by what they see in the American press, whom they almost universally view as against them. The embedded reporters are despised and distrusted.They are inflicting casualties at a rate of 20-1 and then see s#*t like "Are We Losing in Iraq?" on TV and the print media. For the most part, they are satisfied with their equipment, food and leadership. Bottom line though, and they all say this, there are not enough guys there to drive the final stake through the heart of the insurgency, primarily because there aren't enough troops in-theater to shut down the borders with Iran and Syria. The Iranians and the Syrians just can't stand the thought of Iraq being an American ally (with, of course, permanent US bases there).

The only discussion that I've seen, political or otherwise, that actually ended up with a changing of viewpoints and opinions and produced a near-universal consensus on a certain issue was the Combine vs Xen 'Final Solution' thread, and even that's arguable.
 
I always thought you sp0llt it 'nob' but it means 'penis' anyway.

I was under the immpression that it wasnt anymore, seeing as it's been open so long.

well then you shouldnt have any problem staying in the HL2 section right?



who are you to decide what we can and cant discuss? what right do you have to say that political topics are inappropriate?
 
Close the Politics forums was decision of our admins and moderators. I only asking when it will be done. My opinion is unnecessary.

by all means state your opinion, but do so with a little foreknowledge ..I cant say that the rumours and speculation section should be closed because I havent spent enough time there to formulate an opinion
 
I think it should be temporarily closed...as a punishment for treating eachother harshly and I will admit I am guilty of this too and for not being respectful in general. We all need to take a chill pill...the only way to release the tension is close this forum for a time period thats up to the admins.

I can guarantee when they open it back up people will be a lot more respectful and use intelligent rhetoric to argue their opinions. Hopefully that will last...but until that day...I unfortuanately must agree that we all need a break from eachother.

But anyway, I just think they should have specific bans- rather than closing the politics forum, they'll ban unruly forumnites for it for small periods of time, then larger, then larger.
