Ahahaha. Wow, how could someone be so negligent?

Lol. I want to see the errors that DON'T make it through to TV.

Its the American media. What did you expect, sanity?

LMFAO... goes to show you just how much the media knows.

How could anybody be so stupid?

I didn't find it that funny, hell, it went unnoticed by myself the first time I watched the video.

I saw the map scroll by and thought "wtf, everything looks fine to me".

Replayed it and then thought to myself "wait, isn't Afghanistan a tad to the right, and allot smaller?"

I'm surprised you guys picked it up. I mean, of course it's an inexcusable mistake for a major news corporation to make, but i'm rather stunned that you guys can pinpoint Afghanistan on command :\

Well its probably good to know where my countrymen are risking life and limb - plus its not that hard.

A tad to the right?

To be honest I had to google map it, but I can't believe I was stupid enough not to notice it.

The country they have highlighted is Syria, AND IT'S A COASTAL REGION.

Christ, I feel dumb for not immediately noticing that it's on the water.

Wouldn't have been more rofl if they targeted the US. :O

Get off the media's ass, everyone makes mistakes.

To be honest, I don't see how you can't notice it, given how it's in the news every day.

Also another big clue is it's next to Israel and Turkey.
Rather than next to Pakistan and China.

Quite a funny blunder though.

Thats true, but its a really quick little pan with almost no good look at the surrounding area. Took me a second just to figure what I was looking at and then its gone.

But yeah, its really really wrong.

I remenber there was another mistake, about the location of osama bin laden and the headline was "where is obama?"

Ah, but what of those who don't watch the news every day for their geography lesson? Or worse, those (like me) who don't take geography class? We're screwed!

I can't say I know exactly where Afghanistan is, or what country was supposed to be where they placed it, but I did know that wasn't afghanistan.

But, then again, my country isn't at war with Afghanistan, nor do I work for a world-wide news service.

Yeh it's simple, Afghanistan is to the right of Iran, and Syria is to the left of Iraq. Don't underestimate how monumentally stupid someone has to be to get that wrong, they are about two thousand miles apart.

It just gives an idea of the caliber of some people they are hiring within the news media.

It's really strange no one corrected the mistake before they went on the air.

more than 1 person HAD to of seen this and agreed to air it though. You can excuse a persons mistake, but thats just ridiculous.
