CoD4 Post play discussion *SPOILERS*

I did this amazing last stand in the bumper car stand to the right, ran out of ammo in my sniper so had this intense last stand with my shotgun, was ****ing awsome lol.

I just played it on regular and didn't get bothered by any dogs.

Claymores around the ferris wheel platorm, C4s everywhere soldiers might group up, snipe the soldiers as they drop from the choppers as best you can.

'NADE SOME MOTHER ****ERS, YOU MOTHER ****ER.

i tried sniping but failed miserably so i just used the ak.
also bob_marley have i seen you online?

Ok, I cant ****ing beat the end of the Sniping mission. Im made it halfway through the fight to the save point, but now the helicopters come in and drop a ****ing billion people off while more still come from the ground. I try to take out as many as I can while they're sitting ducks in the helicopters, but there are too many, so I have to fall back to my partner, and then I simply get overwhelmed and/or killed by a dog (how the **** do you get them off you, I hit the melee key when it says to and the damn thing just rips my neck out). All my claymores are used up, I have 3 grenades and some flashbangs.

What strategy did you guys use?

Position yourself underneath the ferris wheel, like literally under the actual span of the wheel. That's where I went and I shit you not I didn't get shot once. I hurled back a few grenades and saw some sparks from shots but I was fine really. At the wheel you'vve got a fantastic sight of the swimming pool where they come from, and from my run through about 5 or 6 in total came from the right, where any one that came from left was topped by the other rifle. Anyone that did come close I killed, too their automatic weapon and then used it for any stragglers.

Place the claymores between the cars - theres some really blatent pieces of cover that the cars provide which the soldiers will always go to so every 2 cars plant a claymore between them or so.

I don't know about you guys, but the dogs were attacking soldiers in my play through. I had no hassle with them and the one that did get close had to run up the stairs to the wheel and by that time I was ready for it. But yeah, I was watching dogs running to the swimming pool entrance and going for peoples throats. :|

Yeah exactly lol! The wild dogs you pass I didn't bother than but when the first wave of soldiers came through, they ended ambushing them lol, so I looked on they killed each other.

just finished it this morning, the ending was great, i felt so helpless though when everyone was being killed at point blank. So awesome when Price slides the gun to you, was it a colt btw?

the chernobyl mission was great, the atmosphere in the city was so eerie, made me want to play Stalker again as i never got to the city in that game.

Time for MP. Get on Xfire sometime ;)

I actually got the game today but haven't tried it yet. but I can tell you one thing, for some reason I'm dying to install Medal of Honor again and play Omaha beach like there's no tomorrow! that map rocked your socks off

It was awesome BUT I think your whole SAS team (Sgt.Griggs, Cpt.Price and Gaz) all dieing at the end even though they took on an entire army but didn't get injured was a little irritating, I wish one survived...

I cant get into the SP, the MP is just too damn fun!!

i played 'all ghillied up' again lastnight but this time i decided not to follow MacMillan so exclusively, everytime i saw an enemy i took them out, i even tried to take out the chopper that passes over the church with the stingers :p MacMillan got pissed and started saying "stealth means nothing to you does it!?"

btw kudos to whoever mo-capped MacMillan( i particularly loved his sprinting animation when you both had to run from the container to the convoy on the road, loved that bit with the intense drumming :D) and did his voice, can't beat a good scottish accent.

"Hey, Susie!"

I changed my mind about the MP I like it, and I bought the game legally today. I still don't like some things but whatever.

In any case I remember someone here changing their CDkey, so would anyone care to explain how you change your CDkey.

Go in to "Multiplayer Options" in the main menu and you can change it there.

With so many games around at the moment, I can't focus on one singular game long enough to stay good at it. I came back to COD4 yesterday night after some Mass Effect, Halo and TF2 and I failed at MP in general. Couldn't aim right, couldn't remember what weapons for best for what, the usual tactics for certain maps...

:(

n00b! :p

I couldn't play it past the first mission...I got bored stiff :( Maybe I should try it, again?

as impressive as the first mission is, it seemed a bit boring for some reason. grabbing the mini uzi ASAP made it more interesting.

after you see through the eyes of the hostage, and are driven in the terrorist vehicle and executed though, I was pretty much sucked in to the game.

fantastic game. it's fun to play through over and over. The arcade mode (available after completing the game) is fantastic.

The last stage is certainly the the grand finale, but the missions in the middle east were so killer.

The Ai of the enemies and allies is fantastic overall. Sometimes the enemy rushes in like a fool to get in your face, even when they have long range weapons like an RPG. Other than that though the AI is really really good IMHO, at least compared to every other game. Of course, I beat the game on the easiest skill level, and have been playing through on the regular skill level, so I'm not sure if the AI is different at the higher/highest skill level.

The motion capture animations are spot on, and the touches like the no-look fire from behind cover from enemies is so wicked.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but with a few decent players with headsets, I'd imagine it's the ultimate game of it's kind to date.

Great game to have. I'm glad I bought it.

The explosions and other special effects like the heat and smoke from the weapons are so cool.

The only minor gripe I have is a bug where if you interrupt a reload by sprinting or something, the next time you attempt to reload the weapon, your character will pull the clip out again, when there shouldn't be a clip in the weapon anymore.

Single player was fun for a bit - completed it on a hireage and then bought it for the multi. All my friends who were playing it before are busy with Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed now, though, so I have to settle for lagfests with US players. :(

The singleplayer was really good fun :D

And the multiplayer is just fantastic :D

I can't bring myself to finish the SP quite yet either, I really bought the game for it's stellar Multiplay. I honestly can I say I haven't had this much fun with an online FPS in quite some time.

Just finished SP campaign...I was quite upset when you were in the back of the truck being chased by truckloads full of bad guys...had a flash back to arcade games...but man, I nearly pissed myself about the point where the bridge gets blown...the ending was soo sad...being dragged away by the American, just to see him take a headshot...my heart sank like the Titanic...and then your squad leader passes the 1911 over to you...****in best game ending ever! GOTY for sure!

You killed like five hundred people before that, so don't get too upset. ;)

I'm hoping my family can get the Blade Runner collection and one game for Christmas. This year has been THE best for gaming as a whole. Ever! ;) I really hope the GOTY doesn't go to Crysis. I really hope it goes to COD4. I'm pirating a few games like MOH: Airborne. It was only 4 levels and it's certainly not worth $60. There are just so many good games out that nobody can afford all these games. COD4 is just amazing though. If you are having problems with the final mission I have a few recommendations. Pick up an enemy gun lol. If a dog attacks you, then don't instantly press melee. It says in text "wait for the dog to go for your throat". *Oh and Royce is a big member on the flamehaus.com forums. He was hired by Activision and the members have been mocking him for joining Activision. Now they are eating their comments gladly.

Yeah once we got inside the bunker, I ditched the pistol for an AK47, and then a shotgun when we got through the blast doors in the control room...I also found that when you guys enter the base after blowing up the tower, then you should put some launched grenades into the trucks to keep more bad guys from spawning and getting out...once they pulled up, I put a grenade into the back of the first one, which blew it up...took 3 to get the second truck as it was behind the fence...

The singleplayer was really good fun :D

And the multiplayer is just fantastic :D

what he said x 1000 :E

I used to play css 90% of the time, now 10% css and tf2 90% is going to cod4 :smoking:

question, who is the 1st 'horseman'? He dies in 'shock and awe' afair. Is he one of Al-Asad's generals? who detonates the nuke?

the other 3 being Al-Asad, Zakhaev and his son.

Ok, so I got the game today: completed 3 missions and had a shot at the multiplayer.

WOAH. Definetly my new favourite shooter (along with TF2). The multiplayer was so much fun and I now have a 3.0 KD at level 8 :) The maps are all very nice. Cant wait to progress further into the story and get some frags on the multiplayer.

9.5/10 so far.

Yeah I know! I got Crysis a week ago and last night I made 1st Lt...having lots of fun with this!

Anyone else hearing "our UAV's all mine" instead of "our UAV's online" when a Marine is speaking? It really sounds like that to me o_O

JESUS ****ING CHRIST!!!! i was playing the end of ''one shot, one kill'' earlier on Veteran, i must have restarted at that checkpoint before the helicopters drop the troops near the Ferris wheel at least 20 times, god damnit that was frustrating.

I also let myself die a few times even when the evac chopper came as i was trying to get the last intel peace remaining. Apparently the doors to the building to the east open at some point and the intel is at the end of the corrider but alas, it never opened for me.

Where is the best position to take up? I settled for basically the same spot as MacMillan as it was relatively high ground and there was a slight dip in terrain just behind him where you could get cover when prone and heal. But i was always overwhelmed, generally by flanking troops to the east beside the ferris wheel or the ****ing dogs.

I then decided to go underneath the ferris wheel as the metal beams gave some cover but grenades magically seemed to spawn at my feet every 2 seconds.

I also tried the ticket booths as i would atleast be covered and i assumed the A.I. wouldn't be smart enough to enter one, they didn't and the most trouble i had was from nades, again, i was absolutely peppered by them but was able to use the door as cover, unfortunately nades in the end did kill me even though the nade indicator wasn't onscreen :|

I then said fook it and went totally north-east of MacMillan down into the alley, right into the north eastern corner where a solitary tree kept me from harm, i only had trouble from the few troops who automatically spawn near the pool building and run down this alley, usually only 1 every 10 seconds or so.

Also i had to deal with the troops in the area towards the bumper cars and the picket fence on that side, on veteran everyone is a sharpshooter, the bloody tree must have taken 300 bullets atleast. But they generally just stayed in that area and never rushed me so using the tree and taking quick pot shots kept me safe, Macmillan never gets rushed whatever thats about :| even though i was nowhere near him.

In the end the chopper came but the door for the intel never triggered to open so i just got back to MacMillan and evac'd.

I'm gona try again tomorrow, any tips?

After rank 55, whats next for COD4?

I hop More ranks coming in future updates with more weapons ?

Well CoD 1 and 2 never had ranks but people still played it for years, the ranks are a cool edition, but in clan matches with new mods out, you dont even have them anyway, you just have selected weapons and selected buffs, to make the fighting easier. Its the actual gameplay that is addictive to me, scrims are awsome on it.
