For those not in the know, CoD5 is NOT being made by Infinity Ward (they just released CoD4). Treyarch is doing it (the ones who did CoD3).

If the job posting has any merit (which it does), then Treyarch will drag the series back to WW2 times.

What a sad time indeed... I guess I'll wait for the true sequel, CoD 6 from IW.

Wtf, seriously. This makes no sense if its real.

So COD3 and 5 aren't even made by the original developers.

That's why those 2 suck, i'll just pretend that they never exist.

:|

I'm going to assume it's not going to be on PC, then.

A shame, as I liked the original two COD games.

My brother and I where talking about COD5 today, before I read this tread, and our conclusion was WW2 as well. The only way they can possibly make this "work" is if they do a south pacific side of it.

Oh, no! Not WWII, I have enough that genre!

Battlefield is better, historic, modern, then Sci-Fi.

Come on people, there's still SO MUCH unexplored in WWII shooter genres!

Revolutionary War?
Gogogoogogo shoot!
Reload!

Shoot~

shoot...

HORRIBLE CASUALTIES

The ones who made CoD 3....

Oh dear.

F*cksake, stop putting huge pauses in your posts. I keep waiting to see if an embedded video is going to show up and it's really

annoying.

I have never considered CoD3 to be a true part of the CoD series, and this will be no different. This PoS developer can make as many hackneyed knockoffs that they want, but they will never, EVER make a true CoD.

Cod3 was really underwhelming.

An eastern front focused campaign would be awesome imo but i cant see that happening.

Isn't treyarch owned by activision, or blizzardvision or whatever it is called now, and aren't they on a tight budget and tight time schedule?
Why are so many people angry at them, considering their situation you can't expect anything but shitty games from them.

Unless they do it from the Axis side, I don't want it

I don't understand why they have to give all the odd numbered sequels to Treyarch.

I enjoyed COD3 quite a lot actually. Well, the MP mainly. SP felt like standard COD stuff, but the MP was fantastic. The weapons/classes were done great, some of the maps were really good and overall some fantastic battles took place.

They did it in United Offensive and COD2.

yeah and the original COD, i mean an Eastern Front only campaign, the Ostfront is so much interesting the the war in Western Europe/Pacific.

I don't understand why they have to give all the odd numbered sequels to Treyarch.

It takes them around two years to make a CoD game. They are just passing them back and forth between IW and Treyarch.

I assume one reason that this is still in WW2 is that Treyarch needed more use out of all of those art assets they created for CoD3. It's all about cost effectiveness of the resources.

I swear to god, Treyarch better move forward by their next CoD 7 project.

So COD3 and 5 aren't even made by the original developers.

To be fair, the best CoD so far, UO, wasn't made by the original developers either.

Then again, grey matter didn't suck.

Ah well, maybe they'll pull something new and interesting out of the bag, like the Korean War or some thing. But I have little to no hope of that. And hopefully they'll have a better research department than IW and wont base their models off airsoft guns.

nO SHIT ?

if this is the case, I won't buy it. I will wait for something COOL like COD4,

or BF3, or FOW :D these are COOL games.

Alternate reality, let the axis win for once in an FPS wargame dammit. That would be epic.
