Yes we did. In fact, in WW1we had no choice but to fight, Britain still had domain over us. By the time WW2 came around, we were fully autonomous and declared war on the Germans of our own accord.
 
My mom's british, and my dad is french, and I was born in blackpool, england.

I then moved to toronto with my mom, but the time I spent in france with my dad were some of the best, its such a beautiful place.

I suggest you do go
 
We so need a history board. Judging by this convo, there is lots of interest in it, and this chat has been primarily between only 3-4 ppl!
 
I thought you did, i was reading some text about WW2, and it mentioned a canadian regiment...but i wasnt sure if canada actually fought in WW2, but now I know:D
 
I love history and different cultures, i've gotten a real buzz out of this discussion, this has made the off-topic boards fun again (and its not by spamming)

Anyways, basically every war, canada just sends 100,000-500,000 troops over to america to send with thier million

I'm not so use to people being interested in history and such....kids now a days can name 450 pokemon, but cant name 5 historical facts....history is what made us today, we cant ignore it....and its much more interesting then pokemon lol

yep, if I were pursuing a career that interested me rather than one i know I can make good money off of (my shallowness shines through), id be a history major no doubt

I wanted to do history for A levels....but I'm too stupid to do it:( So i have to do geography instead
 
I went to one in london...that was cool it had air raid shelter, a bombed town you could walk thru...but i think it was more about Britain and the war then the whole war.

I did history at AS level, im diong A2 this year.


Anyway, i read up to about page 3 and got bored (Im on 40 posts per page :)). This got popular really fast. Thats quite cool.

Anyway, i dont mind so much that it went off topic, i learnt a few things about russia. And it was interesting reading all the stuff people said about Germany. Especially since i did history and i know all the mistakes everyone was making. :p

Anyway.

Whats it like in the USA then? Kind of the other end of the scale after asking about Russia. You may have already talked about it, but since im not reading all those posts it would be nice to talk about it. What kind of steretypes exist and are wrong?

Ok I would like to point out that Hitler was in fact an EVIL genius. He was NOT good for the country. If anyone wants to know exactly why. I shall elabourate... but since my typing is lagging :p... ok?

Sorry about me leaving the converstion yesterday.All of a sudden the power flickered at our house and the computer turned off then all of a sudden when I turned the comp back on, my keyboard wouldn't work.My guess was I had to press the connect button on my wireless keyboard but I couldn't find untill I told my dad and he found it.Long story short my keyboard was screwed up and I didn't know what was wrong with it untill today and my dad fixed it. :)
 
That sucks. Well i'm thinking about making my own book.
 
Well I want to it to based on a 2nd Revolutionary War in America.
 
I'll see if I can make the story line shorter.
