Hitlers great power was his speaking ability. He almost put a spell over the masses when he would speak. Watch a video of him giving a speech if you ever get the chance.

@Tredo

Kingdom of loathing

Its this very amusing online rpg...check it out, im not one ofr these kinda games, but i love this game.
In it, when u drink vodka it says 'in russia, vodka drinks you!' and what you said reminded me about it...

Yea.Hold on I think I remember a quote that hitler once said.Oh yea "If I knew that the Russians had 2 times that many tanks I would have thought twice about invading them."I don't know if thats the exact quote but it was along the line of that.

Oh yea, I was watching this movie about Hitler's life, it was on Global-he was great at speech. Kept raising his fingers and spitting..

Hitler practised for days on his speeches, he really was an excellent public speaker

Yep, and thats where all of his power came from, his power to motivate people, unfortunatly he motivated peopel to hate

He was also a good artist. Did u know that Hitler is Austrian?

Yes, yes I did... did you know he enjoyed it when his neice would stand over him, piss on his face, and scream obscenities at him?

Oh yeah, hed get right into it, and whip the mass into a frenzy. I think him and Winston Churchill were the 2 greatest war time public speakers in history.

Yes, didnt he see some kind of horrific thing in when he lived in austria....he wrote it in a diary or something?

He wrote it in his book he wrote in prison, "Mein Kampf" or something (translated to My Struggle)

I thought it was in a book that he wrote before Mien Kampf, but thanks for the correction

His book was Mein Kampf (My Struggle) which outlined his plan to bring Germany back to its former status

edit: too late, I was the third to mention the book

could have been, im not sure

You guys should read it is pretty intresting.

Yeah he wrote it in jail. He was in there for a failed coup known as the Beer Hall Peutsh

I have yet to read mein kampf...sounds like an interesting read.

Its funny with the whole nazi bad, allied good thing....if the nazis won, it would be nazi good, allies bad...i know it would really be one or the other, but not many people go 'just becuase the nazi's lost doesnt mean there evil'
This is the best discussion I've ever had about hitler and the nazi party...usually ends up with 'the nazi's were evil people, they deserve to burn in hell' kind of thing, which leaves no opening for a civil and logical discussion.

You guys ever watch a Winston Churchill speech? Now there was a man who could motivate for the war effort.

I loved doing WW2 in history, it was an excellent subject, and i learnt alot about the nazi party and hitler, which was based on facts and not opinions

HAHAHAHA.....yea for some reason I didn't like his speeches as much as Hitlers.

I pretty much know more about WW1 than WW2.

On the Stalin subject, its funny how Hitler is the one who always gets the bad rap, yet Stalin had millions and millions more killed than Hitler, no one even knows how many deaths there were from his reign

World War 1 for some reason is boring to me.I kinda like the more modern wars like Desert Storm and WW2

Alright Tred, Ill talk WW1 since its your area of expertise, shoot.

World War 1 was the first war were vehicles were used to transport armies and were machine guns were used-it was the first advanced war. Before, wars were won when a country had the better shooters. World War 1 was more than that.
Edit:Bass what do u want to know?

WW2 was the last interesting war for me...wars now adays are too full of technology and 'freidndly fire' to be interesting.
WW2 was one of the last battles to have face to face fighting...now adays wars are fought by firing missiles from a silo 24000 miles away from the battle...

True, it was the first major war where the battles were not the old style of lining up and taking turns firing your muskets (which IMO was the dumbest idea ever, yet they did it for centuries)

Yup. In WW3 should it ever occur, there will be no infantry, no battles, just the push of a button and the destruction of the world. Sad really

yer, i like the really old skool battles, like romans and vikings...now those are interesting battles.

Oh wow, im a prowler, just noticed:D

Yea but times change.I for one like war, because it is what destroy's nations and what builds them.If it wasn't for war America would have never been formed. If it wasn't for war Iraq would still have Saddam.

WW3 wont be a war...it'll just be like a computer game...that will destroy the entire world..no wonder they say games are bad for you! lol

Thanks to World War 1-many new nations were born. War Means revolution. Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavakia etc...

People confuse evilness with stupidity, the nazi's were stupid, hitler was "evil"

though it doesnt mean they should just be able to get away with what they did the slightest bit

I admit times change...but still ww2 was the last war that interested me, some conflicts nowadays do interest me, but there like the ones when the people rise up against the goverment, and all they have are Ak 47's and the will to fight..those are interesting

Well I dont "like" any war, I do agree that WW2 was the last interesting war fighting wise. I love hearing about the great battles like the Battle of Britain, Battle of the Bulge, Market Garden, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, D-Day, etc/
