CONFIRMED: Zelda: Twilight Princess Will Support Revolution Controller!

The Revolution has been confirmed to be released late next year and will launch next to Zelda: Twilight Princess again late next year. However all is not lost for the poor Zelda fans wanting their piece of the most epic Zelda game of all time. Zelda will support and fully utilize the Revolution's controller and numbchuku attachement. This was unveiled in NGC UK magazine. You can see the article here:

And I thought this was obvious either way, if it was a Revolution game of course it would support the controller, and if it was a GameCube game, I thought any Nintendo game would be up for download on Revolution, and how would you play them if the controller wasn't compatible?

The Revolution had a downloadable service for NES, SNES, and N64 games. It is backwards compatable with GameCube games. Though the GameCube games would use the GameCube controllers as shown in the Revolution pics. However Zelda will actually support the Revolution controller and utilize it's many functions which is BIG NEWS if you understand exactly how it works with the Revolution controller. This is epic news for some thus is the reason why I posted it here.

Twilight Princess is a GC game so the support of the controller is actually kinda cool.

So Twilight Princess is being re-released on Rev in the fall with the Rev? Or is it just being released for the first time next fall...because that'd suck...an entire year delay...all too familiar.

They will release one copy of the game which will not be released until late next year. When you put the game into the Revolution a menu will pop up asking if you would like to use the Revolution controller for the game. Thats how it works most likely.

Arg... I dont want controller support, I want the game. I hope it wasnt delayed even longer just for the controller. Im not getting a revolution (im strictly pc now, except for the two consoles I have already), so that would just be a pointless delay for me. Rawr, I wish the world revolved around me!!

The Revolution is backwards compatible with all previous Nintendo software, including GameCube games. The game will still be for the GameCube, but will support the Revolution controller, kind of as a bonus.

I dont think it's compatable with NES and SNES.

There is a service where you can purchase and download NES, SNES, N64 games to memory cards. Revolution has 512MB built in.

It's not that complex. Imagine that you had a Virtual Reality glove on. How you move the glove is how your hand on screen moves. Forward with hand = forward on screen, left = left, right = right, etc. Now substitue 'glove' with 'remote control', and 'on-screen hand' with 'on screen pointer', 'on screen sword', or 'on screen character'.

Yeah, it will be very cool to control your mount with the nunchaku and aim your arrows at your enemies with the remote control. Very nice.

Now every "next-gen" system will have a seriously killer-app (360:Gears of War/PS3:MGS4/Rev:Zelda-TP). This is getting expensive! :frown:

Sounds good. Keep in mind, it's still a Gamecube game, just has extra features when played on the Revolution.

There's a bit more to it than that. As well as detecting movement on the X, Y and Z axis, it also senses roll, pitch and yaw.

As well as that, it knows exactly where you're aiming it on the TV screen (it's a "direct pointing device"). Combining all of those, the controller pretty much knows exactly where it is in 3D space.
