Mancow Waterboarded, Admits It's Torture

"I want to find out if it's torture," Mancow told his listeners Friday morning, adding that he hoped his on-air test would help prove that waterboarding did not, in fact, constitute torture

Turns out the stunt wasn't so funny. Witnesses said Muller thrashed on the table, and even instantly threw the toy cow he was holding as his emergency tool to signify when he wanted the experiment to stop. He only lasted 6 or 7 seconds.

"It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke,"Mancow said, likening it to a time when he nearly drowned as a child. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back...It was instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture."

Gee, you think?

Waterboarding

After stating numerous times that waterboarding was not torture, Mancow Muller performs a simulation of waterboarding and instantly calls it "torture" as admission he was wrong.

Warning this video is annoying, but it's still a video. You'll see why it's annoying.

Lets not forget, you don't have your friends or friendly people around you when they waterboard you. Plus its usually in a cell and darker. I would not wish this upon anyone I know

Yeah. That was a completely set up, friendly/humorous atmopshere they had there.

And he STILL changed his mind and declared it was torture.

And the republican/conservative defense of this one? "He had childhood trauma, it's more emotional for him than anything!"

Thats the first thing I thought of Raz. Reliving a childhood drama could certainly give you a bias.

I mean, its still obviously torture, but that wasnt a scientific experiment by any means and could have easily been skewed by his history with water being all up in his face.

I think its just the fact that he admitted it was torture. Judging by his stance on water boarding before, Mancow could easily have said "it wasn't that bad, i only freaked out because I almost drowned as a kid. just brought back memories." He could have continued to hold onto his old beliefs while giving a plausible explanation as to why he lasted only a few seconds. But he was a man about it and told the truth.

Saw this on Digg. Of course the others Rep blowhards are going to lay into him. I'm still waiting for Hannity to man up and give it a go esp after Olbermann said that for every second he lasts he'll give $1000 to charity.

The only downside to all this waterboarding talk/exposure of technique is bound to end up being copied by some highschool kids or something...:|

Seriously, who gives a shit what a 2nd rate shock jock thinks of it.
Head to youtube and see what waterboarding really can do.

my two cents

I could care less what happens to people that would cut my head off with a dull knife and shout Alah Akbar like their having an orgasm.

I had to stop when Bill O'Reilly started showing the clip from 24 (A show guess what..made and produced by FOX) as part of his build up for the inevitable 'Why the ends justify the means' rant in light of the fact that 69% of Americans (IE the majority) say Waterboarding is torture. Its a democracy Bill, you either accept you're in the minority or you **** off and form a separate Country with Rick Perry :dozey:

Fox took a side a long time ago, and they let the other guy talk for 30 seconds then yell at that person like their the little child answering a question. Its almost unbearable to watch sometimes. Al Jezeera is much better and more neutral

are you serious?

are you serious?

He is right. Have you ever watched the english version of Al Jezeera they are far more balance and neutral than Fox. They allow both sides to debate equally unlike Fox and they usually don't take sides. Fox is a pathetic excuse of a news show and i can't believe people watch it.

I watch online clips once ina while they have a certain degree of bias against Israel and the U.S
I prefer CNN over Fox and MSNBC

MSNBC=liberal fags
FOX=crazy Christians.

CNN is the most neutral of all channels.

Cable network MSNBC is indeed blatantly liberal, however Tim Russert was my favorite anchor and debate moderator.

On topic: I watched this earlier this morning. I wonder why this issue is still a debate.

btw I certainly don't deny that isn't torture..but as I said,as long it's only foreign nationals ,I couldn't really bother.

Non-Americans aren't really human anyway.

I heard Arabs lay eggs for reproduction?

Anybody confirm/deny plz.

No, that's the Israelis. Arabs have gills.

Israeli omelettes anyone?

I like mine with onions and ham.

WTF?

National identity is such a arbitrary state of being (what is being American anyway Vs being British, Armenian or Swiss? Shopping at Wal-mart is probably one of the few collective experiences) that to try argue it as a position of acceptability when it comes to the unacceptable is the height of folly. These people through geographic circumstance happen to be born elsewhere, so as a consequence its ok to subject them to torture? :dozey:

Excellent. You could say terrorists, but you didn't. Oh wait, all foreigners are terrorists.

so being near drowned is not considered a form of torture for some?

don't put words in my mouth *****.
you knew exactly what kind of people im talking about.

Except i don't know what people your talking about. Just because they aren't American then they are not human. Why don't they make Waterboarding legal on Americans if it's not a big deal. If police suspect you of a crime they can waterboard you repeatly till you confess or till they finally relise you were innocent all along.

don't put words in my mouth *****.
you knew exactly what kind of people im talking about.
And what about domestic terrorists? If it's OK to torture foreigners so what about Americans?

I dont think unozero will have anymore fun on this forum :|

people that are a threat to this nation not some random Ingrid of the streets of London.

this answers Polaris's question as well.
