I guess i'll have to post mine config too. This is my config for TFC/NeoTF

Yee crabcakes66, Thats the way to go!(mouse2 - forward)
I use:
Mouse1- primary fire
Mouse2- forward
W- jump
s- crouch
a- strafe left
d- strafe right
shift- alt. fire
f-use
g- flashlight
q and e- lean
or q- last used weapon and e- medkit or something.

crabcakes66 and I are the only ones here that can have fully controll in game with just the right hand on the mouse and a coffee in the left. :D

I like defaults. Maybe I'll change nothing.

bind "ENTER" "+attack2"
bind "ESCAPE" "cancelselect"
bind "SPACE" "+use"
bind "[" "invprev"
bind "]" "invnext"
bind "CTRL" "+duck"
bind "SHIFT" "+speed"
bind "KP_INS" "+jump"
bind "DEL" "+moveleft"
bind "PGDN" "+moveright"
bind "HOME" "+forward"
bind "END" "+back"
bind "KP_ENTER" "+voicerecord"
bind "MOUSE1" "+attack"
bind "MOUSE2" "+reload"

The best damn control system ever. everything lines up with your hand perfectly. Try it. Much easier than WASD.

For example your thumb sits on KP_INS, your little finger on shift and your middle finger on Home with your index finger on PGDN and forefinger on Delete. Then you can move your little finger up one for secondary fire on Enter. It all works well.

Thats basically what I use for movement seen as i'm left handed, and its the closes to wasd i can get on the other side of the keyboard.

Home - Forwards
End - Back
Del - Left
Pg_down - Right
Ctrol - Duck
kp_4 - jump
ect..

W,A,S,D

And then:

E = jump

Q = duck

Space = Use

I use numbers to change weapons. (sif use mouse wheel, too slow and too inaccurate)

Mouse 4 = Lean left

Mouse 5 = Lean right

Mouse 1, 2, 3 are usually left as their default (shoot and what not)

I use ESDF, which is totally superior to WASD in my opinion. Using ESDF, you can cover a larger part of the keyboard. In CS for example I use[d] Q for flashlight, and A Z and X for radio commands. This is along with Shift, Tab, Ctrl and Alt for other stuff of course. This means I can use more buttons on the right for more important stuff like buttons for knife, main weapon and pistol.

You should see me, arrow keys for movement mouse 2 for jump, insert for fire, delete for alt fire, mouse 1 for crouch, space for prone, console for use, KP_1 for jump. F1-12 are other keys.

Oh and farmer, that does work.

only newbs use arrow keys, pr0's use numpad or wasd

mouse wheel down as jump btw :]
mouse2 as secondary fire
middle mouse = comms
mouse1 fire

i can't wait to challenge you to some 1 on 1.

and after looking at some of your guy's controls no wonder some people suck. with your controls you should be atleast have your hands on your movement controls at all times with never having to compromise those fingers. thus being able to jump/crouch in any direction and be able to hold crouch down and prefer any task. such as secondary fire and movement.

i don't understand how some of you come up with these ideas !! lol

I have a five button mouse, it's great for games as I can have secondary fire, reload and all sorts on there. I find it's easier if I can play the game without ever moving my fingers around the keyboard.

bring it on!! my hands are small and wasd is perfect, i have to stretch way too far from the arrow keys, because at least on my keyboard there are no other keys near the arrows, but with the letters, you can have controls all around the movment buttons, although the most important ones should always be on the mouse

I change absolutely everything (if it's originally WASD, that is)- I need my arrow keys.

I move the wasd to arrow keys. I have jump on right shift, crouch on right ctrl. I have reload on Delete above arrows, End and PgDn are the two grens (TFC) one gren one cycle last used weapon (CS), Home and PgUp are prev/next weapon. Enter is Use item. Num pad Ins is a prime grenade script (TFC) Need Backup (CS), rest of num pad are radio commands, rather smartly laid out with 14 commands in CS and text in TFC.

Left of the right ctrl/shift and Enter I have some lesser used keys like drop ammo, call medic and stuff. Walk is on extra side mouse button, btw.

The reason I move everything to this area is because the spaces and arrangement of keys in that area makes it very easy to feel with your hand where the keys are without having to look at them, even if your room is pitch dark.

I press the jump/crouch using side of pinky finger, four main fingers on the four arrows and the keys around are reached by different fingers moved from the arrows when needed.

I will beat a majority of you in here with these keys, trust me. :cheese:
