Coolest old man ever

"The heaviest music going."

Heh, okay.

Well, it's heavier.

Why? Because the "singer" sounds like he's about to crap himself? The instruments sound the same as in any regular heavy metal songs...

Welp, obviously I'm not going to convince you since you already have a disdain for this kind of music, but if you feel like it go ahead and link anything from that era of heavy metal that's comparable in heaviness to today's stuff.

Again, not comparing quality (I'm really not into screamo or most anything from genres that end in -core), just saying music's gotten heavier as bands continued to explore the gritter side of metal (which was in part influenced by stuff like Sabbath and Maiden, so no hate there).

No Iron Maiden (classic Iron Maiden) and Black Sabbath had actual lyrics with actual things such as guitar solo's. Now I have no clue wtf they are saying. Now it's just making noise on the guitar while a drum box plays the drums. Ever think that it's so strange that the drummer never misses a beat and each drum hit is timed perfectly apart throughout the course of a 2min+ song? Or ever think that the "singer" ever loses his voice "singing" his songs over the course of a tour?

Gosh dang kids and their emo tripe just listen to these jokers will you they sound like a cougar just crawled down their throat and clawed out their insides I remember when music was still music and guitarists played SOLOS remember those I think they were outlawed in the great bassist strike of eighty-ought-six by golly what I'd give to hear a real drummer and not this elecmatronic mumbo jumbo I tell you what metal was so much heavier IN MY DAY.

Do you see where I'm going with this.
