Coolest Video Game Characters

BTw (of Splinter Cell guy) - "Sam doesn't need to talk much to be cool, just look at all his moves! Have you seen his split jump?" - So Jean Cleude Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Steven Seagull are cool too? I don't think so :p
Van Damme, Norris, Seagull arent cool at all. They talk and that is bad for them. but sam you get to control him, he has nothing to do with those amateurs you named. If sam would be in a movie, maybe he would not be cool, but in a videogame he kicks ass.
I cant wait to see how Sarah from ghost will do, but she sure looks like she's gonna top fisher.

Sam fisher actually has some preety neat sentences in pandorra tomorrow....
the fact is at his age.. he can get into a enemy building and take every single bad guy out, sometimes with nothing but his hands... also the fact that throughout the series he meets his old friends/ one of *SPOILER* his teammate dies in splinter cell one, and his relationship with his daughter etc.. has made his emotions come alive to.. i think Sam Fisher is one of the best video game characters...

Murray all the way. Christ I completely forgot about him...

Sam Fisher is an alright guy. Often seems quite a dull character at first glance but the way he's actually a family man when not sneaking around terrorist installations. For example at the end, when...

...the president is on TV thanking 'all those involved' and he's laughing his head off...

...shows him to be a more complex character than most give him credit for.

In no particular order :

- Bomberman & Megaman
- Link
- Sephiroth (FF7)
- Twinsen (LBA)
- Sonic & Evil metal Sonic
- King Kong (Rampage)
- Raiden & Scorpion (MK2)
- Orchid , Clacius , Fullgore & Eyedol (KI)
- Biker dude from Full Throttle (can't remember his name)
- Tanya & Cain (C&C)

Jon Irenicus

Baldurs Gate II

Excellantly voice acted and has some of the best lines in a computer game. I'll always remember the dream sequences, and the way bioware turned him from a cliched villain gaming role into an original character simply by this great dialogue backed up by an immersive, epic of a story.

Manny Calvera

Grim Fandango

Really stylish slick game, with a really stylish slick main character. Brilliantly done adventure as again by LucasArts - Like a movie, this game was linear, but I only felt this added to the dimensions of his character, spread over the 4 year period. I hope to god some day they make a sequel.

Tracer Tong

Deus Ex

All the characters from this game were great. So many interesting characters that you actually cared about makes you wonder whether we have actually come anywhere with games like Far Cry and the awful characters in that.
So anyway, I picked Tracer Tong because he was such a great character, he typified Deus Ex's book like style of storytelling.
When playing Deus Ex 2 I realised how badly they had buggered up when Tracer Tong was made into this character you didnt even care about anymore, all down to 'non-linearity'.

The G-Man

Half Life
Half Life 2

What can I say? The Gman typified Half Life as Tracer typified Deus Ex. He was the mystery to the game, the unaswered questions. He was brilliantly voice acted, with that calm juxtapositioned tone in the middle of such destruction and without a doubt one of the greatest game characters of all time.
Roll on Gman in Half Life 2!
