cremators

if those corpses in the tunnels are from cremators then they havent been doing their job properly, cos they seemed pretty intact to me. burning off the face and leaving the body is hardly cleaning up...

I doubt they will be in Aftermath because the Combine don't give a damn about the corpses they leave while they're trying to get the hell out of there.

But wouldn't that also mean the Cremators themselves are trying to get the **** out of there themselves? They would in essence "come out of hiding" like a heap of other things in C17.

What I meant by that is thats their job, cleaning up corpses. Thats their role. So, if they were in Aftermath, they would be either helping you(doubtful) or trying to kill you(also doubtful, because they're not supposed to attack you, unless Valve changes their role). They just won't be in Aftermath for gameplay purposes.

Nah, I reckon that, seeing as they weren't in HL2, their status as "neutral" can be absolutely void. They can now be as aggressive or passive as Valve wants them to be.
BEsides, I think their "role" as cleaners wouldn't exactly be first and foremost in their minds. I doubt the Stalkers are going to be particularly keen on fulfilling the menial tasks they were previously subjected to.

well maybe valve can just put he cremator in the game, yet out of contact and harms way. a bit like the crab synth... unless you use debugging codes in the console to open up the people mover youre in, noclip onto the conveyer belt that theyre on, and hit it 8 times with the gravity gun (crab synths only have 8 health points). OH! or maybe there could be a scripted scene where a cremator dies, and a combine soldier picks up its gun, examines it as if he's never seen it before, fires accidentally, and gets its purpose, and then, the fight starts.

i think they would know what they are. i guess i kind of imagine them having a similar trait to a leaper, in that they seem to be scrawney and tattered, they look like they could be fast if they wanted to be.. i just imagine them generally being slightly sub human and monster-like.
