I for one am glad they didn't qualify. 1. They didn't deserve to the way they've played the last few months and 2. hopefully this will be enough to mean that Steve M get's the boot.
 
Funny though, because now all the media's like omgz! England didn't qualify! Nwbs! It's <insert scapegoat here>z fault!!onez!

But yeah, thank God no bloody excessive coverage of the games through the tournament
 
Mclaren is a fool ... had a system that worked and didn't use it for the first half, instead favouring a system where players play positions they aren't used to. Idiot.
 
Shame not to see England qualify, I have to say. I always liked the atmosphere they created in the stadiums by the singing and wallpapering the stadium with the St George's cross.
 
And the hitting people and being loud and getting drunk?
 
I don't really care if England qualify or not, I don't think the current England squad deserves to qualify. Sucks that Northern Ireland didn't qualify. No team from the British Isles qualified.

In a way, I've been hoping we didn't qualify (as horribly unpatriotic as that sounds). The national team has needed serious kick up the arse for ages now.

With any luck it'll be bye-bye McLaren. Honestly, that ****ing smile he pulls when talking to the press.

Soccer doesn't get a lot of coverage here in the US. I wish it did though, it's a great sport...and one of the few I like to play.
 
What did England expect though?

Croatia are no small-time team.

Hansen was spot on - no spirit, no determenation and no real drive considering what they were playing for.

Not the end of the world.
 
There the England team have had their kick up the arse and I won't have to put up with weeks of mindless driveling about the football. W00t.

Any Home Nation fan of any country is just fecked off because their team is a bigger pile of wank who didn't even have a snowballs chance to qualify.

No home nation = nobody to support = piss poor tourny.

Scotland: As I'm Scottish I'm gutted we didn't qualify, by a mile the hardest group and we did so feckin well to get so far. I really thought we had a stand up chance and the second half of that match was great. Gutted more than when my last GF split up with me (thought to be honest I was relieved over anything for that)

Ireland (not a home nations but): You were rubbish beyond rubbish.

Northern Ireland: OMG every home nation team was routing for you.

Wales: Pah, your football team is as rubbish as your Rugby team.

England: Okay they were bad, but fecks stack, bad luck in at least one match against Croatia just plain sucks. McClown should go, and I can't help but feel Sven would of got them through but they were the home nations last chance.

And I get really riled up about home nations having a go at England. It's the worst case of small dick syndrome I've ever encounter and I see if every time England do anything. Bit of friendly banter is great, problem is only the English seem capable of it. Everyone else is too busy feeling inadequate about themselves and their nation they'd rather see England loose than their own nation actually achieve something. And that's just ****ing pathetic.
 
That was a piss-poor performance by England, absolutely gutted - barely anyone played to their full potential - serves as a big wake-up call to the FA et al. with regards to the England squad.

****ing ridiculous, when we've got such talented players and the best league in the world, why the hell does our national team struggle against a tin-pot country. Pathetic.

BOOO. If we had qualified we'd have been humilated by the actual football teams playing, so I guess it's a good thing.
 
Yep, they did not qualify, but I dont care when England lose now. Ever since we got knocked out of the last World Cup (to which I have never been more gutted) I never hold my hopes up for them, makes it so much easier to take the punch in the face of not qualifying.

England are shit, and to quite honest, they will be shit for a long time. On paper we are second only to Brazil, but as a team, we are second only to Andorra. But come on, everyone blaming McClaren? Shows how stupid football supporters are, yeh he is an average manager at best, but its more so down to the players to put the bleeding performance in too.

Everyone called Sven a shit manager before he got the boot, but then he came back to the premiership and turned Manchester City, a team that can barely stay in the bottom half of the table, into a fighting force for the top four, and suddenly he is an exellent manager. Does not matter what manager you get, at the end of the day, the players need to put the performances in.
 
I started supporting Croatia though the match after watching England disgracing themselves Croatia was the better team by miles.
I mean all we needed was a draw and if you can't get that playing at home in front of 88,000 fans you deserve nothing.

Maybe the England squad will finally get their heads out of there arses and sort themselves out.

At least Scotland went out with dignity and can hold there heads high there group was very tough.

Damn right, Scotland not qualifying was a downright injustice after the fight they put up in the group they had.
 
Portugal Qualified! All you who oppose Portugal can just keep watching and weeping as they dominate Euro '08. I know it would normally be a arrogant statement, but not when it's true. :)
I was kind of hoping England would qualify, I wasn't watching their matches, but they have a pretty good squad no doubt.
Just out of curiosity, any other Portugal supporters?

saw the match highlights, my god the last goal that downed england could have been saved. It was a long range shot if I am not wrong.
