Crysis Screenshots

4GBs is a bit shocking.
Usually, games' requirements were increasing with a typical computer pattern - 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 512, 1G... but now we jump from 1G to 4? :O I hope it's bogus :p

I don't belive it'll require 4GB, thats about the maximum amount of RAM you can have in standard PC's today. 2GB would be more realistic as recommended and 1GB as minimum or so.

Yes, 2GB sounds more realistic, especialy because the game is expected to be released later this year! Still, I'm sure the game will run just fine on 1 gig in medium-high settings ;)

notice it says "maximum" not "recommended" or "requirement"

Yeah, really. I have 2 gigs, and I'm pretty confident that that'll do just fine.

Does RAM come in sticks of a gig? Don't most motherboards only have four slots for RAM?

zomg 4 gig of ram!

Would it be better to get 1 stick of a gig, 2 sticks of 512, or 4 sticks of 256 ram?

its best to get 1GB stick as u can get more RAm in ur system plus dual channel aswell.

But will 4 sticks of 256 have some lagtime or will it be better than 1 stick of a gig since the one stick has to do much more than the four 256s?

That was probably really confusing.

Well because how processors work with 3 or more sticks they will run slower. Amd Processors I believe reduce there speed while Intel processors increase there lag time. But technically 2x512 would be faster than 1x1024 I believe. Although I would go with 1024 for future prep. I mean what if you have to upgrade to 2 gigs? What are you gonna do with all your 256x4? Why not just buy another 1gig stick. Much cheaper.

I got my 4 256's for free. Some guy on the internet upgraded his RAM and he was going to throw it away. My brother told him that he'd take it and since he already had a gig of RAM and i was building a computer i just took that stuff. Saved some money.
