Crytek Engine v2

Impressive. But what next-gen engine isn't? Still, I do very much like the look of the island theme that Farcry has, and in the new engine it looks so much more natural.

Wow thats awesome. Shits on Far Cry's graphics. But then again that game is a year and a half old. Still damn impressive though. Love the volumetric clouds.

My god, I really hope someone'll use that engine for a console game, and I think the volymetric clouds were really impressive, as were the soft-shadows+dynamic day/night cycle..

Man I wish the next GTA get graphics like this..:)

My dad doesn't have DivX (I think thats the reason I can't see the picture), so I'm downloading it, and see it on my Comp. later on

Me thinks CryEngine v2 will Pwn all

LOL, just watched it, it is exquisite

Hope this time round, you can paint a target for the aircraft flying above.....BOOM! A building gets Demolished, with debris flying everywhere

If Ubisoft is the publisher......

my uncle bought 2 games last week LOMOC and SHIII both are Ubisoft games both have had to install shitty starforce bullshit protection software...ARGH

Here's more info found on FarCry's forums:

[I}
It was a CryENGINE 2 alpha build demonstration
- It's the new project Crytek is working on that will be released by EA
- It was not a movie but a real-time demonstration
- The game ships at the same time with Windows Vista
- It's said to be the first DX10 game[/I]

They removed the link on their forums because of this:

Sorry FC fans, but that demonstration was exclusive to paying customers at PCD '05 and amounts to pirating which is not supported on these boards.

It's like someone going to the midnight release of a popular movie with a vidcam and posting it. Also, highly illegal.

I'm quite certain that vid cams were forbidden at this conference and this footage was taken from one snuck in. Easy to do considering the small size of some of them today.

I am amazed at how much better everything looks. FarCry was very impressive when it came out and I loved how easy the Sandbox editor was to use, so I cannot wait for this game, whatever it is!

Still, Windows Vista? *sigh* It had to happen sometime....

wow, i was most impressed by the interactive environment... looks f*cking awesome, I guess I'ma need a card with SM4 to really play it, though

Something tells me Windows Vista will be 64 bit, as standard

DX10, can't think of sound or graphics that would need another DX update, unless offcourse that update will be for the first Physics Card

standard ? wow, you really think they would do something like that ?

well, it won't be.

Wow, that was really nice. I like the interactive invirnoments and the destroyable evironments. The clouds were nice too.

Me likes. :)

Omg, i just creamed my pants,, why do I all of a sudden want to play as a cheesey action hero again?

I still cant find my far cry box :(

this is the first DIRECTx10 game.

ok ok .............. does this mean all DX9.0C cards including the next Gen cards such as 7800GTX and the upcoming X1800XT would be dumpd after few months. that is BULLLLLLSHit

cant see anything ...anyone know which codec is needed to view the video?

That's the way technology works. You'd think everyone would be used to it by now.

Lovely and all, but I want to see how long the fan base lasts for a game on that engine...

omg omg. i cant stop watching it, im so exited about this, Insane looking environment's, argh and just contemplating the fact that you could spot and hear your enemy from the rustling of foliage makes me smile, *drool*.

True, that would be nice to see, but for my purposes, I don't really care since I can play the whole single-player experience and then make whatever lush, tropical maps that I want, as I did with the first one. I simply can't wait for this title (though another serious hardware upgrade or two is going to be imperative, so let it wait until '07 pr '08 for all I care :D ).

My biggest hope in the damn gaming world is that CryTek brings us a kind of Jurassic Park game in Cryengine 2. Nothing, in this whole world could be better.

I'd like that whole island as a single multiplayer map. That'd pwn muchly.

And you could go underground into labs and such.

I would like a remake of Farcry in the Cry Engine v2 (avoiding the port that was HL:S)

AI would be awesome this time round (think of FEAR's AI)

I would like a Incursion type gameplay (Co-op), where you face against the entire AI with friends (jus 4-8)

I just wish they put in as much effort on gameplay as they do on graphics (not pointing at crytech as I thought farcry was genre-defining for a fps ..in a sense) ..but unforetunatly graphics sell games

I better start saving up some money for a high end DX10 card. This looks awesome.

Me guesses itll take a while to actully play this at our homes, and that a DX10 card wont be enough to play it. You might need a whole new system :)
Since i cant even play Far Cry on maximum details with my X800 Pro card.

A new card will be needed fo sho. I've got a socket 939 board (Asus A8N SLI), so *fingers crossed* I am only gonna need a new processor. I'm planning on upgrading to 2 gigs of RAM this week, so unless it needs 4 to play Vista games smoothly, I am pretty safe.

One thing tho, Vista? Who says I am gonna upgrade as soon as it gets out?

Why? Your current rig even shames some computers at NASA mission control ..... ;)
