I was hoping to find out what this game was before my exams started but no :(

Why the **** would you have 5 countdowns?? It means the others are pointless at least be honest and just put in a big countdown

I am going to go out on a limb and say that instead of being a 5 or an S, it could be a 2 or a Z in a mirror (yes it is a ****ing longshot).

As much as a want a new MGS i would like Kojima to make something new. BUT we already know he is working on his other projects.. So whatever he announces its just a matter of time. I need my MGS4 Trophies tho ****ing hell.

'S' for Snatcher remake! Speculation over, remake confirmed.
 
Snatcher? Was that good? Christ that game is about 15 years old.

It might be pretty cool to see, because it was really limited by technology back then.

I wonder what system it's going to be for.
 
Tbh I hope it's not a new MGS and is, as has been suggested, a new Snatcher game. I would like to see what Kojima could do with a new(or revived) IP.
 
If it is snatcher I hope they rerelease it on XBLA or PSN or something cos I bet a ton of people haven't played it (including myself).
 
Assuming it's a completely redone game - if he does revive something he did so long ago, I guarantee it's going to be extremely ****ing awesome.

I would probably even like it.

I would like this. I always felt MGS4, though fantastic, was sparse on additional features. There was no way of chapter selecting, movie viewing, boss fighting or any extra games such as Snake vs. Monkey or the like. Plus, no trophies. I'd buy it in a second.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, just add trophies to the list of features.
 
MGS4 on the Xbox maybe? Nah

Prolly just a countdown for an announcement of a countdown to the announcement of a new wacky hat DLC for MGS4
 
It's probably the "Substance" version of MGS4. If that's the case, there's a good chance it could release on 360 as well as PS3 like MGS2:S did with the X-BOX. Wouldn't hold my breath though.

If it is I'll definitely re-buy it. MGS4 has one of my favorite gameplay systems ever and I would love nothing more than ... more.

I never re-buy games for their special editions, but the "Substance" versions of MGS games are very different. They typically add a full games worth of content and simply include the original game as well (the original can also benefit from new features like the camera in MGS3). Basically, they make a relatively short but very high quality single player game ... and then they make a second edition that is devoted purely to exploiting the gameplay engine to it's fullest. MGS4 in particular has one of the best gameplay engines I've ever seen and I don't feel that the main game really tapped into the full potential of it.

The amount of content added is far more than anything you could buy for $2 or get for free, often significantly more than you'd get in a regular retail release. And if I'm not mistaken they even released the older "Substance" versions at a reduced price. So yeah ... if you like the games it's pretty much a no-brainer to sell the original and buy the new one.

Of course an ideal solution would be to add the new content in DLC for original buyers...
 
Only with Metal Gear Solid would gamers be so starved of gameplay that they'd consider tedious VR-mission compilations like the 'substance' series worthy of a double-dip. Every 30th mission is actually interesting.
 
I've got to say I've never understood why people double dip for metal gear and I'll be kinda peeved if after all this hype it's just mgs4 substsistenance or whatever it'll be called this time :|

He showed us there's so many different muscles we can flex.
