Dammit Kojima...

FYI, Kojima has even called the NES version of MG1 for "Garbage", partly because it was done without his consent or involvement, leading to many inaccuracies when compared to the proper(MSX2) version. Hence why when Subsistence came out, they used the MSX2 version of MG1, and not the NES version. You nub. I am thoroughly dissappointed in you VictimOfScience. You need to freshen up on your Metal Gear knowledge!
I thought though he generally didn't like it, the matter of lack of consent was about Snake's Revenge, and his auteur-level hatred was levelled at that rather than the port of the original.

I FEEL ASLEEP!

I was sad when I saw it was another countdown.
:l

You all know kojima is ****ing with you, and all of you gonna fall for his scheme.

But not me, kojima. NOT ****ING ME

I guess it may not be a new ip

something tells me is a substance like version maybe whit some extra storylines and such

Some people are saying that the pic in the Famitsu article isn't Raiden as Raiden has blue eyes and in the pic has brown eyes. Some people think it might be Sunny(has brown eyes) :|

Man, its Frank. Let's just leave it at that.

Sunny...:rolling:

Hmm, maybe we are all wrong:

The cyborg shown here IS NOT Raiden but rather the first Snatcher. Dr. Pettrovich Madnar, the same doctor to save Raiden's life in MGS4 was also the original leader of the Snatcher project. The "Raiden" pic on the teaser website is not Raiden at all but the first Snatcher made by Dr. Madner and that is why they look so alike but not identical. The teaser Raiden is clearly a Snatcher because he has two screws in his forehead and his left eye is covered hiding his Terminator-like red cyborg eye. My bet is when the last timer runs out the bandana will be removed from "Raiden" on the teaser site and we will all see the red eye.

and with the Mask overlay for more rumor-mongering...

VictimOfScience, you have still not apologized for your ignorance on the MG1 lousy NES port matter!

Anyway, a new Metal Gear series that tie in with Snatcher would be pretty cool.

I rejoice at the concept of a msg5. I prequel would be the best idea instead of shi**y raiden.Liquid should be the main character.

I hope they dont pack it ful of cutscenes, make it less sentimental and quit verying the gameplay. I would just like a long mgs packed full of stealth from beggining to end. Even the boss battles should be stealth oriented since its a STEALTH GAME. With smart AI, weopons that can be bought at mission breifings instead instead of real time, make your own camo, upload your own ipod tunes and mix them and such and linear indoor levels. Could possibly be the best game in my opinion.

But meh. What are the chances. The last supposed STEALTH GAME had fraqing motorbike chaces in it for gods sake.

The mgs4 didnt really satisfy my stealthly needs and had a measly 5 acts. One of which was fallowing a man and the other level didnt even have people in it save for one annoying vampire boss fight.

If they ruin this one i am going to turn to alchoholism.

This.
One of the worst things they did for MGS2 was dumping the established character and putting Raiden in the main seat for most of the game. Granted, some people liked him but personally I just thought he was annoying.

I know, I know. I am sorry for that. The NES version was the only version I played way back when. It was loads of fun and introduced me to the universe insofar as it was called, "Metal Gear," but you are right about it not being comparable to the original from what I gather. MGS really started the serious story of Snake as he is now and always will be for me.

Anyway, a new Metal Gear series that tie in with Snatcher would be pretty cool.
Yes indeed. The possibilities are endless for some really amazing storylines, though a tad fewer cutscenes would be fine by me too. :p

Oddly I never really minded the heavy cutscenes, my attitude I guess was "stuff it I have time".

Slightly off topic, but the only MGS related game I didn't like them in was Metal Gear Acid, especially the cutscenes where you couldn't skip so you were forced to cycle through endless dialogue sequences.

Indeed.

IMO Kojima also needs to do some major reinvention of the gameplay, sure MGS4 had its share of improvements compared to MGS3, but it was still the same at heart, I'd like for it to become more adventure oriented perhaps..*Hides from flaming arrows of death*

I love the idea of more adventuring in a MGS game. I would also really love to see the HUGE breaks between environments go away. I would love to see a more seamless gameplay experience like a SOTN map (though obviously not 2D in this case). More emphasis on stealth and adventure/exploring.

I still think it's one game. I don't see kojima as the type of man to work on more than one game at a time

So how many times are they going to sell the same movie?

I love that with all of the technology and new science to be able to start building these wicked cyborg ninjas that they still have two huge philips head screws right out in the open in the forehead.

As such, I think it is a purposefully placed and obvious hint that this is an image of the first Snatcher. The relationship to Sunny/Raiden/Olga/the rest of MGS as it now stands will become clearer very shortly I imagine.

The site has changed again and now the sun is breaking through the clouds and an '8' is being flashed with no other letters or numbers. So the obvious hints are Sunny (the character) and '8' (the 8th Metal Gear game).

Also, another person noted:

All of the letters/numbers so far - 5/S (Let's assume S), R, P, E, C, 3, 6, 0.

Rearranged - SCE PR e3 06 8

Meaning - Sony Computer Entertainment Press Release [at] E3 06 (June) for the 8th installment of Metal Gear.

Plus, another stated:

Ok so theres the number 8
8th Letter of the Alphabet is H
Japanese word that states with H is "hebi"
"Hebi" means Snake
Snake is coming back
To further prove my point,
the 8th Element on the Periodic table is Oxygen

So there has been a Solid Snake and a Liquid Snake...but what about a Gaseous Snake?? Seems totally logical...

I am not sure how this ties in with the PSP Metal Gear that was "announced" through the PSP Go Qore episode. I really hope there is another PS3 game in there with an enhanced version of the MGS4 engine.

I'm still wishing that it's a new ZoE game or a new Snatcher game!

I think more of one thing will be anounced

unless we play as raiden who travels back in time to fight bigboss when was comanding outerheaven

So Metal Gear Rising (multiplatform). Raiden stars. No other info...yet.

The Sony conference tomorrow should be much more interesting now.
