Hey, can anyone tell me if they know of any cheap (<$1000) portable DAT recorders? I can't find a cheap one anywhere..well, besides used..

AHH, if you said the full name I would have known what you meant :p

I'm not sure if I know where to get one cheap.. I'll keep a lookout for you next time I go shopping, if I see a good one, I'll buy it for ya (as long as I get reinbursed, otherwise I'll keep it for myself, muahahaha)

*growls*

I had a look for you today, couldn't find any decent ones.. well - one decent one, but it was £1,200. Bit out of the price range, lol.

EDIT: Incidently, I got my nice shiney new MiniDisk player today! Yay!

wow... for sure this is useful to capture outdoor sounds, but it's expensive !!
How much data can you record with those DAT ? 2 hours of hi-quality sounds ?

Way off topic, but i found an old pic of my mixer and mic. heh.

I wish I had a mic like this (and a mixer too)..

All I have ATM is (don't laugh at me please) a DigitalHandyCam connected to my PC as a mic :]
hehe

Hey, whatever works. My first mic was an El Cheapo (tm) uni mic from the 80's. It broke when i ran(literally) into a truck when attempting to record the sounds of the local street fair. The mic pictured there is my secondary mic.
