Wow, ive just been looking at the old beta screenshots, they just look utterly bland and boring, Valve really have done an amazing job, it now looks so much different and 100000x better.

Are you sure? That doesn't make any sense. A client using HDR has no effect on the server.

I'm not 100% sure but I do remember reading on the valve forums a quote from Gabe saying you can. I think it's because players without HDR could be seen to have a slight advantage since they don't suffer the small moments when things are too dark or bright to see clearly.
For example, if u go into a dark room from outside then with HDR enabled anyone in that room would be a little less visible for a moment.

That's just bloody ridicoulous, so we originally bought HL2 which came with CS Source, HL2 DM & other mods if u got other versiuon that Bronze, and now in order to purchase dod s u will also get HL2 DM, i allready have that i dont want another copy, have VALVE gone mad!

And about buying online, i dont think VALVE understand that not all of us would like to get a credit card, cos if we did we wud most likely get into debt.

Visa debit (Delta) cards work over Steam. And they understand this which is why they still release things in stores... Albeit, since they've been with EA, rather backwards.

One, if the mere ownership of a credit card is enough to send you into debt, that's your failing, not theirs. Two, debit card.
